How new IOS 15 will quicken online dating

3 Min Read

Android phones may be more popular overall, but for us Apple aficionados, we know which mobile platform is superior! Apple has already provided us with model after model of top-tier mobile devices that are perfect for everything from video chatting to mobile browsing, so it should come as no surprise that everything just gets better with the release of iOS 15! Of course, you’ll need to ensure that your phone supports the latest round of upgrades, but if it does, then you’re in for a treat (especially if you’re single!). More and more people are finding their lovers online rather than in person, so if you’re looking for love, there’s good news below. This latest version is perfect for accessing websites and using apps for online dating! Daters want the same thing as any other Internet user – tight privacy, convenient messaging, and fine-tuned overall experience. So, the iOS focuses on being perfectly usable and approachable, and as it always is with Apple, all the other services, including dating platforms, follow. Here are more examples of how iOS 15 will enhance your dating experience:

Communication

As you likely already know, if you own an iPhone, the instant messaging experience is quite superb. Surprisingly, despite all the great features they already offer, Apple has actually found a way to make messaging even better by identifying text in pictures! At first glance, this might not seem like it helps your online dating at all, but if you actually think about it, it truly can.

Using the feature, you can identify product names, book titles, and other useful information that lets you know more about your significant other & track down the perfect gift because searching instantly with the text information. The feature is especially useful for singles with partners who love to go to the library (but probably wish they owned more books)! Beyond that, searching through messages has also become easier since Apple has added a “Shared With You” section. No longer will you have to scroll through pages of messages to find that one picture someone sent you a while back; just look in “Shared With You”!

Focus

The best part about smartphones is that they can handle many different tasks, but problems arise when you’re trying to do too many things at once. Let’s be honest: it’s easy to get distracted! You start out scrolling through Facebook, open a YouTube link, look up a Netflix show recommended by a commenter, then end up Googling some random actress you never knew existed, then pass out to Hulu. That’s all good & great, but while you were sleeping you missed six messages from your S.O., and they’re not happy! This wouldn’t be an issue if you used the new “Focus” feature!

“Focus,” much like a status on instant messenger, lets people know if you’re available or if you’re busy, all while filtering through your notifications. You could simply set it to “Sleep,” and your S.O. would know you were sleeping (or at least not available), sparing you the now-inevitable rage of a girlfriend ignored! Focus can do other things as well, like auto-reply to messages and allowing specific notifications to pass through, making it a very useful feature for your favorite device!

Video Dates Will Be Better

Sometimes, you aren’t physically in the same place as your partner, but you still want to see them. Thus, video dates were born! Traditionally, video dates are pretty impersonal: two people sit in front of a webcam and talk while browsing the internet. Not exactly what you’d call a romantic relationship. Online dates usually lack a sense of “togetherness,” but an important part of going on a “date” is doing things together. However, (thanks to iOS 15), you’ll actually be able to do that on your next video date!

iOS 15 has a new feature called “SharePlay,” which allows couples to share their photos, music, or movies with their chat partner in a FaceTime call while dating online. This means that despite being miles apart, you can finally watch movies together or listen to tunes simply by picking up your phone! Of course, Apple didn’t stop there: SharePlay also allows users to share their phone screens with each other live via FaceTime, so your next video date is sure to be almost as good as a real one. You can even schedule a time & send the link to your date!

Summary

Overall, Apple has outdone itself (once again!). These are only a few of the many updates that have been made to the system, but when it comes to online dating or maintaining your current relationship, we think these ones specifically will be the most helpful. From a superior messaging system to live Netflix dates via SharePlay, the dating options online will probably be even better than the in-person options are now—just give it a couple of years. As IRL dating becomes less common and more people take to dating only online, we’re glad to see that Apple’s keeping up with the times & offering the features we need to find love fast! Remember, your perfect half is out there somewhere, and with the new iOS 15 updates, you can be (nearly) next to them in no time!
