Truth be told, I hardly ever leave the first page of my iPhone’s home screen. No, my iPhone isn’t super organized and, yes, i have tons of apps installed on my device. (trust me, this phone is a total mess). Thankfully, you don’t have to rely on your iPhone’shome screen pages to find and launch an app. In most cases, there’s simply a much faster way.
How to Find an App on Your iPhone or iPad Fast
If you want Apple’s App Store features around two million apps for iPhone and iPad combined. If you’re like me, you probably have tons of apps on your iOS or iPadOS device but have not had the chance to organize them all. You can easily lose track of an app icon’s location on the Home screen.
Fortunately, it’s easy to find and launch the app you’re looking for on the iPhone or iPad. Here’s how to Find an App on Your iPhone or iPad Fast:
Find Apps Using Spotlight Search
Near the middle of the Home screen, use one finger to tap and swipe down to launch Spotlight Search
This brings up Spotlight Search. An on-screen keyboard and search bar will appear.
Here, you can search for and open any app on your iPhone, no matter which home screen page it’s on or how deep inside a folder it might be. You might even find the app you’re looking for via Siri Suggestions beneath the search bar, where you’ll find four apps by default, but tapping “Show More” will expand the number to eight.
One thing i like about this feature is that Quick Action menus still work on both apps you search for and apps in Siri Suggestions. That means you can use 3D Touch or Haptic Touch to access the Story camera in Instagram or start a new tweet in Twitter, without ever needing to know where those apps happen to be.
If you were looking for the quickest way to search for an app on your iPhone, there you have it.
