How to Update Apps in iOS 13 & iPadOS 13

How do you update apps on iPhone with iOS 13 and iPad with iPadOS 13? You may be asking yourself this question if you opened the App Store to discover the
“Updates” tab is gone since updating youriPhone iPad, or iPod touch to iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 or higher.

No problem, it is easy to update apps in the App Store on iPhone and iPad running iOS 13 and iPadOS 13, it’s only that the update app screen
Was moved to a different location.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through step-by-step on how to update apps in the latest versions of iOS and iPadOS for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

How to Update Apps on iPhone & iPad with iOS 13 or iPadOS 13

  1. Launch the “App Store” app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap on your account profile icon located on the upper right had corner of the App Store.
  3. Scroll down to find the “Available Updates”
  4. tap on “Update All” to update ALL apps installed on your device.
  5. To update specific apps, scroll down to find the app you would like to update then tap on “Update”

You can exit the app store and the apps will continue to update on the background.That’s pretty much it, your apps will update just as usual.

Where did the “Updates” tab go in App Store for iOS 13 and iPadOS 13?

The Updates tab has been removed from the App Store in iOS 13 and iPadOS 13. Instead, the Updates are now contained within the App Store account profile
section, as explained above.

We don’t know why Apple choose to remove the Update tab, however, for whatever reason you can still update apps
within the Accounts section of the app store which is represented by the account profile icon in the upper right corner.

Some folks guess the App Store Updates tab was removed to create room to promote the Apple Arcade gaming service instead, however, apple is the only one that can tell the truth

Should you find this new method of updating apps more cumbersome or confusing, or should you forget to update your apps on a regular basis, or perhaps you want

Turn on automatic apps update on iPhone and iPad
and your apps will be updated automatically immediately an update is available, and without you
Having to initiate the process.
