the same. Should you really care about refinements or are simply not content with your iPhone XS Max, then you are likely to think about upgrading to the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Below is a comprehensive look at the differences between the iPhone XS Max and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

What’s Different between iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone XS Max?

Display

  • iPhone 11 Pro Max – 6.5-inch 2688 x 1242 pixels (458 ppi), 82.9 percent screen-to-body ratio, HDR10, Dolby Vision, Haptic Touch, Retina Display XDR
    , True Tone OLED
  • iPhone XS Max – 6.5-inch 2688 x 1242 pixels (458 ppi), 3D Touch, HDR10, Dolby Vision, 3D Touch, Super Retina HD, True Tone OLED

The iPhone 11 Pro Max features similar display size as the iPhone XS Max however, it is brighter, has improved contrast ratio, viewing angles, and many more.. It’s

so great in fact that Apple is calling it the Retina Display XDR rather than Super Retina HD. Like these improvements were not sufficient, the new OLED panel

can be 15% more power-efficient.

It does not feature 3D Touch and rather include Haptic Touch which may be a significant bummer for few.

Design

  • iPhone XS Max – 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm and 208g, IP68 certified
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max – 158 x 77.8 x 8.1 mm, 226g, IP68 certified

The iPhone 11 Pro Max has almost the same measurement as the iPhone XS Max, but it’s notably heavier than it. While the two devices feature IP68 certification,

the iPhone 11 Pro Max can withstand being submerged up to 4m depth of water vs 2m for the iPhone XS Max.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max also includes a matte finish that gives it quite a different look and feel in relation to the iPhone XS Max. Additionally, it also comes in

a new Midnight Green color which is not on the iPhone XS Max.

The stereo speaker setup on the iPhone 11 Pro Max has also improved and provides spatial sound for an immersive surround sound experience. There is also Dolby

Atmos support which is not available on the iPhone XS Max.

The Face ID experience on the iPhone 11 Pro Max is also better since it currently works over a broader field of view.

Processor

  • iPhone 11 Pro Max – A13 Bionic, 7nm+ EUV, Third-generation Neural engine
  • iPhone XS Max – A12 Bionic, 7nm chip, Second-generation Neural engine

The A13 Bionic is about 20% more powerful than the A12 Bionic while also becoming more power-efficient compared to it. The GPU is also up to 30% quicker and Apple

claims up to 40% decrease in power consumption. There are a range of power efficiency-related improvements in the A13 Bionic processor which helps the iPhone

11 Pro Max last more compared to the iPhone XS Max. The new Machine Learning Accelerators in A13 Bionic make sure that combined together with the CPU, the processor is capable

of providing more than 1 trillion operations per second.

Storage

  • iPhone XS Max – 64GB, 256GB, 512GB
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max – 64GB, 256GB, 512GB

This is an area where the iPhone 11 Pro Max doesn’t offer you any sort of upgrade over the iPhone XS Max. It comes with the same 64GB of base storage and

tops out at 512GB — similar to the iPhone XS Max.

Camera

  • iPhone XS Max – Dual 12MP camera setup with f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 1.4um pixels, Smart HDR, Focus Pixels, Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and
    Depth control
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max  – Triple 12MP camera setup f/1.8, f/2.0, and f/2.4 aperture, OIS for Primary and primary camera: Telephoto sensor, 100% Focus Pixels,
Enhanced Smart HDR, Portrait mode with advanced bokeh Depth control and Brighter True Tone Flash

The

triple-camera technology

on the

iPhone 11 Pro Max

is a significant revamp of the iPhone’s camera system. Apple hasn’t just upgraded the hardware but the software

Too to provide a better imaging experience, particulary in low-light situations. The new iPhones feature an upgraded camera app to better make the most

of their powerful camera system

The iPhone 11 Pro Max’s main 12MP camera has significantly enhanced focusing rates, dynamic range, and details, while the telephoto sensor has a broader f/2.0 aperture

that ought to let it capture usable photos in low-light situations. The brand new 12MP f/2.4 120-degree ultra-wide angle camera will allow iPhone users capture

photographs with an entirely different view . This is something that the iPhone XS Max does not have.

There’s a fresh Night mode from the camera app which automatically activates itself in low-light situations to catch brighter photographs.

The video shooting capabilities of the iPhone 11 Pro Max is also a significant step up from the iPhone XS. It spots Audio Zoom in which the iPhone will automatically

Concentrate on the sound coming from the subject. The dynamic range and cinematic stabilization also have also been enhanced on the iPhone 11 Pro.

There’s QuickTake video as well which lets one to start recording videos on the iPhone 11 Pro Max simply by pressing and holding the camera button

Front Camera

12MP resolution plus it features enhanced Smart HDR enabling it to capture additional details and provide enhanced dynamic range. In addition, it can record 4K videos at

60fps with cinematic video stabilization as well as with ‘slofies’ at 120fps.

  • iPhone XS Max – Dual SIM/eSIM, Bluetooth 5.0, Gigabit LTE, Wi-Fi ac with MIMO, VoLTE, NFC with reader mode
  • iPhone 11 – Dual SIM/eSIM, Bluetooth 5.0, 1.6Gbps Gigabit LTE, Wi-Fi 6, VoLTE, NFC with reader mode, Ultra Wideband chip

The iPhone 11 Pro Max represents a massive jump over the iPhone XS in relation to connectivity. It supports quicker 1.6Gbps LTE download rate together with support

for latest Wi-Fi 6 standard. In addition, it includes Apple’s new U1 Ultra Wideband chip that is helpful once Apple Tags are launched later this year. It will

allow for improved indoor positioning, location tracking, and spatial awareness.

Battery Life and Charging

  • iPhone XS Max – Lasts up to half an hour longer compared to the iPhone X
  • iPhone 11 – Lasts about 5 hours longer compared to iPhone XS, 18W USB-C charging brick

The iPhone 11 Pro Max provides a huge jump over the iPhone XS Max in respect to battery life. Apple asserts the iPhone 11 Pro will last up to five hours longer

than the iPhone XS Max that is truly a lot. The improvement means the iPhone 11 Pro Max will easily make it through a day of exceptionally heavy usage

while the iPhone XS Max may struggle.

Even better, Apple is including an 18W USB-C adapter in the iPhone 11 Pro line this time around. This in other words

the phone can charge from

0-50% in just half an hour . While the iPhone XS Max supports rapid charging as well, Apple just packs a 5W charger with it. Additionally, the two phones support 7.5W wireless

charging.

Cost

The iPhone 11 Pro Max begins at precisely the exact same cost as the iPhone XS Max used to start: $1,099. It goes all the way up to $1,449 for the 512GB version.

There’s no denying that the iPhone 11 Pro Max is a very expensive smartphone as we saw in the iPhone XS Max last year.

Sure, it brings new features to the table but in the event you already have the iPhone XS Max, then you shouldn’t really think about upgrading to it.
