How to hide photos on iPhone or iPad in iOS 14

This article explains how to hide photos on iPhone in the iOS 14 photos app

I know most of you already know how to hide photos on iPhone inside the iOS photos app but with the release of iOS 14, iPad OS, and macOS Big Sur, Apple deeply focused on the privacy side of things and enable so many new privacy features for its users. Apple released iOS 14 with an array of new features including the feature to totally hide photos from the photos app on iPhone and iPad. I know all of you are curious to know the method to hide your private photos inside your photos app.:

Hidden photos in iOS before iOS14

Before iOS 14, there is an option available on older versions of iOS which lets users hide their photos inside the photos app. But the problem with that is all the hidden photos moved to a separate folder “Hidden” and can be accessed by anyone who is using your device.

In iOS 14, Apple gave so many strong privacy features one of them is hiding your private photos inside the photos app with full protection. The method to do so is discussed below.

Follow these steps if you want to completely hide your private photos:

  1. Ensure that you are running iOS 14 or iPadOS 14.
  2. Now, launch the Photos app and select all the photos you want to hide.
  3. Next, tap on the Share button at the bottom left corner and find the “Hide” option.

  5. All the photos will move to the hidden folder.
  6. Next on, start the Settings app > Go to Photos section
  7. You will see a new toggle switch called “Hidden Album”
  8. Turn that toggle off.

Now you can easily give your iPhone to your friends and family members without any worries. Hopefully, in newer iOS versions Apple will introduce more privacy features including App locker for individual apps so that no one is able to snoop what’s inside your apps.
