If you’re wondering how to transfer photos from an iPhone to a Lenovo laptop, you’ve come to the right place. What’s the point in keeping all your holiday and dog pics locked away on your iPhone when you could be plastering them all over bigger screens to totally not bore your friends and family?

Jokes aside, storing your photos on a computer really is incredibly useful. Doing so can free up space on your iPhone, giving you more room for apps or to backup. It’ll keep them stored safely if you don’t use cloud storage, and it also means that you’ll have a better time editing your pictures using the powerful desktop versions of the best photo editing apps like Adobe Photoshop.

This guide is here to show you the different ways to transfer photos from iPhone to a Lenovo laptop. You might think it’s more tricky to transfer photos from an iPhone to a Lenovo laptop without a USB cable than using a USB cable, and you’d technically be right. But that doesn’t mean it’s difficult — in fact far from it. But you needn’t worry anyway, as we’ll be covering both here.

WHAT TO KNOW

  • You can transfer photos from your iPhone to a Lenovo laptop using a USB cord.
  • You can also transfer photos from iPhone to Lenovo laptop without a wired connection by using a variety of tools. These include using iCloud Photos, emailing the pictures, using Microsoft OneDrive, or messaging apps.

For many people, an iPhone is really more of a camera than it is a phone at all. Later generation iPhone cameras, like those on the new iPhone 15 models, take amazing pictures. And with how many pictures we take, it only makes sense that we’d want to keep those pictures for as long as we can.

Luckily, you never have to delete your iPhone photos, even after you get a new iPhone. It’s easy to transfer your photos from iPhone to your Lenovo laptop. This can help clear storage and protect your data.

How to transfer photos from iPhone to a Lenovo laptop

Method 1. Transfer photos from iPhone to Lenovo laptop Using Photos App

One common way to import pictures from iPhone to Lenovo laptop is to use the native Windows 10 Photos app. It can be a bit fiddly at first, though, as it requires you to download and install the iTunes app and register your iPhone within iTunes before your Lenovo laptop can read the contents of your iPhone’s storage.

Here’s how to transfer photos from an iPhone to a Lenovo laptop with the Windows 10 Photos app.

  1. If you haven’t yet, download and install the free iTunes app on your Lenovo computer.

  2. Attach your iPhone to the laptop with a USB cable. Then unlock your iPhone, and on the screen, a Trust This Computer? message will appear. Select Trust and, if asked, enter your device’s passcode.

  3. On your Lenovo laptop running Windows 10, click the Start button. Choose Photos from the menu that pops up.

  4. In Photos, click Import and select ”From a connected device” in the top-right corner.

  5. The computer will begin scanning your iPhone for photos and videos. If you have multiple photo-storing devices connected, you’ll be able to pick which one you want.

  6. You’ll have the option to choose where you want to put your imported photos and to select which ones you want to transfer. Once you have made your selection, click Import.

Method 2: Transfer Photos From iPhone to Lenovo laptop via File Explorer

If you don’t like using the Photos app, you can also download pictures from your iPhone to your Lenovo laptop using the basic Windows 10 File Explorer tool you typically use to browse folders on your device.

As with the Photos app method explained above, you will need to download and install the free iTunes app and connect your iPhone to it before your Lenovo laptop can read your smartphone’s contents.

Once you’ve installed and set up iTunes, open File Explorer, which you can access via the Documents link in the Start Menu and navigate to This PC > Apple iPhone > Internal Storage > DCIM to access your pictures and videos.

Your iPhone photos may be in multiple folders, but all you need to do now is find the ones you want and copy them to another folder on your Lenovo laptop.

Method 3. Import photos from iPhone to Lenovo laptop by OneDrive

By far, the easiest way to download pictures from iPhone to Lenovo laptop is to use a cloud service such as Microsoft’s OneDrive. After the initial setup, this method will allow your iPhone to wirelessly sync all of your iPhone photos and videos to your Lenovo laptop automatically, so you won’t have to worry about connecting any cables or manually copying files.

  1. Download and install the OneDrive app on your iPhone.

  2. After you’ve installed the OneDrive app on your iPhone, open it and tap Allow Access to All Photos. OneDrive comes automatically installed on most Lenovo laptopsso you don’t need to download it for your computer.

  3. Log into OneDrive with the same Microsoft account you use on your Lenovo laptop and tap your profile photo in the top-left corner.

  4. Tap Settings.

  5. Tap Camera Upload.

  6. Tap the switch to turn on the Camera Upload feature.

  7. Disable Use Mobile Network if you need to save data and want media uploaded when connected to Wi-Fi. Enable Include Videos if you want videos you record on your iPhone transferred to your PC as well.

  8. Your photos, and videos if selected, should now begin uploading to Microsoft’s OneDrive servers. They will then download onto your connected Lenovo as computer soon as it’s turned on and connected to the internet.

Your downloaded media should be available within the OneDrive > Pictures > Camera Roll folder on your Lenovo computer once the sync is complete.

Method 4. Import photos from iPhone to Lenovo laptop by iCloud

If you use iCloud Photos on the iPhone, you can have real-time access to your photos on your PC via the iCloud for Windows app:

  1. Download and install iCloud for Windows on your PC. You can download it for free on the Apple website or the Microsoft Store.

  2. Open iCloud for Windows and sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. Click Options next to Photos and select iCloud Photos.

  4. Click Done, then click Apply.

  5. To find your photos, open File Explorer and select iCloud Photos from the Navigation pane. Your photos should appear within the directory momentarily.

If iCloud Photos is not active on your iPhone, your photos won’t show up on your Windows PC. To enable it, open the iPhone’s Settings app, select Photos, and turn on the switch next to iCloud Photos.

However, iCloud only provides 5GB of free space. You may need to upgrade your iCloud storage to upload all your photos and videos.

Method 5. Send pictures from iPhone to Lenovo laptop Using Email and Messaging Apps

If you’re not a fan of cloud services or don’t feel like downloading any additional apps, you can still transfer photos from an iPhone to a Lenovo laptop the old-fashioned way by using email.

  1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone.

  2. Go to the photo you wish to share, and then tap the upload icon. To select more photos, tap the circles in the bottom right corner of each image

  3. Tap Mail – the blue icon with a closed letter inside of it – to open the email app

  4. Send the picture to your email address and then check the email on your Lenovo laptop.

Another alternative is to add your photos to a conversation in an iPhone chat app and open it on your Lenovo laptop. Once you open the conversation on your Lenovo computer, you can download all of the images in it.

Apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger have Windows versions free to download. However, most services also have web versions that you can access from any browser.
