With Sound Recognition in CarPlay, you can have iPhone continuously listen for car horns, sirens, or baby crying, and recognize them using on-device intelligence. When these sounds are detected, a notification appears on the CarPlay touchscreen. It’s available with supported iPhone models, though you shouldn’t rely on it in high-risk or emergency situations.
Note: Sound Recognition in CarPlay is available with supported iPhone models. Don’t rely on Sound Recognition in circumstances where you may be harmed or injured, in high-risk or emergency situations, or for navigation. CarPlay isn’t available in all countries or regions.
- In CarPlay, open Settings and then tap Accessibility.
- Select Sound Recognition and turn on Sound Recognition.
- Turn on the sounds you want to be notified about.
