This Account Does Not Have iCloud Music Enabled, Fix

Several users have reported that they see the following error message when they want to use Apple Music.

The error message is as follows: This account does not have
iCloud music enabled. Apple Music has not been linked to this account. This account does not have Icloud Music Library enabled

If you are experiencing this problem, then this troubleshooting guide is for you. Apparently, this issue affects the Mac, iPhone and iPad users.

It’s important to try the troubleshooting steps below in their order. Test your device between steps to see if you’ve fixed your problem .

How do you fix this account does not have icloud music enabled?

1. First, check to find out if there are any Apple Music outages. You can check if there are any service interruptions by heading over to the
Apple System Status
page. Please follow these steps:

  • Go to the Apple Status page
  • This page lists all of Apple’s online services.
  • look for Apple Music.
  • If you see a green dot icon next to Apple Music, then all the services are working normally.
  • If there are issues, you will see an icon in different colors like red or yellow. If that the case, simply wait, Apple engineers are working behind the scene to fix the issue.

2. Restart your device. Here is how:

  • To restart your Mac: Click the Apple menu then Restart.
  • To restart iPhone X, 11 or newer, and iPad with Face ID models: Press and hold the power (side or top) and the volume up (or down) buttons together until the power off slider appears on the screen. Then drag the slider. Wait until your device completely shuts down. Then turn on your device by pressing and holding the power button until the Apple logo appears.
  • To restart other iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone models: Press and hold the power button until you see the power off slider. Then slide the onscreen slider. Then, turn on your device by pressing and holding the power button until you see the Apple logo.

3. Please ensure that your devices are running the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, or iTunes for Windows. It’s pretty easy to update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS, iPad to the latest version of iPadOS, or Mac to the latest version of macOS. Please follow these steps:

  • To update your iPad or iPhone: head over to Settings > General > Software Update. And if you see and update, download and install.
  • To update your Mac: Go to System Preferences from the Apple menu and click Software Update.
  • To update iTunes on your PC:  launch iTunes, and in the menu bar located at the top of the display, select Help > Check for Updates.

4. Check your network connection. You need a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection. Please try the troubleshooting tips below:

  • Turn on Airplane Mode and wait a few seconds and then turn it off.
  • Restart your router. Just disconnect it from its power outlet , wait a few seconds and then reconnect.
  • Ensure that your device is not too far from your router.

5. Sign out and sign in.

  • On your iPhone or iPad: Head over to Settings > iTunes & App Store > your Apple ID > and hit Sign Out. And restart your device and then navigate back to Settings and Sign back In.
  • On your Mac or PC: launch the Music app or the iTunes app and click Account > Sign Out. Then restart your Mac or PC and then navigate to Account > Sign In.

6. Check the date and time. Make sure that your date and time are set correctly. Please follow these steps to check and then edit if they are not correct:

  • On your iPhone or iPad: Start the Settings app and go to General > Date & Time.
  • On your Mac: Go to System Preferences from the Apple menu, and then click Date & Time.

You may also want to enable the “Set Automatically” option.

7. Turn off and on Sync Library. If it is already off, turn it on. Here is how:

  • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Launch the Settings app and go to Music. Then turn on Sync Library.
  • On your Mac: Launch Music, and click Music > Preferences > General. And tick the Sync Library box.
  • On your PC: launch iTunes and Edit > Preferences > General and iCloud Music Library.

8. Reset network settings. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. It’s worth noting that this will remove all of your network settings. For instance, your saved Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings will be removed.
