Why is My iPhone Flashing Apple Logo?

When you switch on your
iPhone,
it initializes the software and checks all the hardware to make sure it’s working correctly. The Apple logo is displayed on your iPhone while all of this is happening. If something goes wrong during the process, your iPhone won’t turn on past the Apple logo.

How to fix iPhone flashing Apple Logo

Solution #1. Force-restart your device

Sometimes forcing your iPhone to restart is all you need to do to fix the problem. Since your iPhone won’t turn on past the Apple logo, you’ll need to Perform a hard reset. The process of hard resetting an iPhone depends on which iPhone model you have, so we’ve broken down the process for each device. First make sure that your device is connected to a power source. And charge your iPad or iPhone for at least 15 minutes. Then:

  • iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11 or later, and iPad with face ID models: Quickly press and release the volume up button then quickly press and release the volume down button and then press and hold the side (or top) button until the Apple logo appears.
  • If you have an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold down the volume down button and the power button at the same time. Keep holding both buttons until you see the Apple logo on the screen. (ignore the “Slide to power off” screen if you see it).
  • If you have other iPhone model (iPhone 6s, iPhone SE, & older, iPad with Home Button or iPod touch, etc): Simultaneously press and hold the Home button and the power button (Sleep/Wake button) until the display turns black and the Apple logo appears again (ignore the “Slide to power off” screen if you see it).

Solution #2. Put Your iPhone In DFU Mode

A Device Firmware Update (DFU) restore erases and reloads your iPhone’s software and firmware. This type of restore is also the final step you can take to resolve any type of iPhone software glitch.

Again, the way to put an iPhone into DFU mode depends on which model you have, so we’ve broken down the process for each device.

DFU Restore iPhone 6 or earlier

  1. First, build a connection between your iPhone and computer using a USB cable and launch iTunes.
  2. Next, press and hold the power button and the Home button at the same time.
  3. After about eight seconds, release the power button but keep pressing the Home button. Release the Home button when your iPhone appears in iTunes.

If your iPhone did not appear on iTunes, start over from the beginning.
