Start the Settings app on your iPhone 12 Pro.
Go to Battery.

Bring up the Control Center by swiping down from the upper-right corner on your iPhone 12 Pro.
Drag the Brightness slider to the bottom, or as near to the bottom as you can go and still comfortably read your display.

3. Turn on iPhone 12 Pro Auto-Brightness

Auto-Brightness settings adjust your screen lighting automatically based on ambient light levels. To turn this feature on:

Start the Settings app on your iPhone 12 Pro.
Go to Accessibility.
Tap Display & Text Size.
Turn on the switch next to Auto-Brightness.

4. Turn Off Raise to Wake on Your iPhone 12 Pro

iPhone has the Raise to Wake feature enabled by default. 6. Reduce the Number of Widgets in the Today View & Home Screen

Widgets allow you to quickly view information in the Today View or on your Home screen, such as the weather, your calendar events for the day, activity progress, and much more. But all those widgets take power to keep up to date. If your iPhone 12 Pro battery is dying too quickly, consider getting rid of any widgets you don’t need. To access the Today View from the Lock screen, swipe right from the main Lock screen. To access the Today View from the Home screen, swipe right from the first Home screen.

To remove widgets you don’t need in the Today View & Home screens:

Scroll to the bottom of the Today View screen; tap Edit.
If you started from the Lock screen, you’ll need to unlock your phone to make changes.
Tap the minus symbol next to any widgets you’d like to remove.

For widgets on your Home screens, touch and hold the screen until it enters Wiggle mode.
Tap the minus sign on widgets you’d like to remove.

Tap Done when you’re finished removing widgets.

7. Restart Your iPhone 12 Pro

Restarting your iPhone is troubleshooting 101. If you ever have any problem with your iPhone, Apple-made or otherwise, a simple restart almost always helps. Restarting your iPhone probably won’t fix the problem of battery drain on iPhone 12 Pro completely, but it’s likely to give it a bit of a boost. To restart iPhone 12 pro:

Press and hold down the Side button alongside the up or down volume button until you see the Power Off slider.
Drag the slider from left to right to turn your iPhone 12 Pro off.
Wait a minute, then hold the Side button again until you see the Apple logo, and release.

8. Turn Off Background App Refresh

Background App Refresh allows your apps to check for new content and update even when you’re not using them. This is intended to save you loading time when opening up apps as the latest information should be ready and waiting since it refreshed in the background. However, allowing all your open apps to continually update and refresh in the background is a sure-fire way to drain your iPhone 12 Pro battery. To turn off Background App Refresh:

Start the Settings app on your iPhone 12 Pro.
Go to General.

9. Location Services: Only While Using the App

Lots of different apps want to know and use your location for various reasons, but most of them don’t need to track your location when you aren’t using the app. Yet, some apps have the option to always know your location, regardless of whether you’re currently using it or not. Now you might want to leave tracking on for, say, a navigation app. But most apps don’t need Location Services on all the time. You can quickly go through your apps and choose whether they can use your location Always, While Using the App, Ask Next Time, or Never. If the app never needs your location, feel free to select that. For most apps, it makes the most sense to allow Location Services only while using the app. To do this:

Start the Settings app on your iPhone 12 Pro.
Go to Privacy.
Select Location Services.
Tap on individual apps to choose when Location Services can be used. If the app never needs to know your location to be fully functional, go ahead and select Never.

You can also choose to toggle off Precise Location if the app does not need to know exactly where you are.

10. Place Your iPhone 12 Pro Face Down

When your iPhone is facing up, the screen lights up whenever you receive a notification. If you receive a ton of notifications, they could easily be part of your iPhone 12 Pro battery problem, especially since notifications in iOS 14 are rich, meaning you can see conversations, images, and more directly from the Lock screen. Doing so might mean you’re actually on your iPhone more by virtue of being able to do so much without unlocking the device. Stop yourself from being tempted to reply each time a notification appears by leaving your iPhone face down on your desk or side table. Doing this will preserve battery life since your iPhone 12 Pro won’t illuminate when you receive a notification.

11. Save Battery Life on Your iPhone 12 Pro: Turn On Low Power Mode

I was hesitant to include this because it seems like such an obvious Battery saving trick. However, not all people are aware of the beauty that is Low Power Mode. Sure, we’d love our iPhone battery life to last forever without it. But when you have three more hours until you can charge your iPhone, and your iPhone battery percentage is at thirty percent, Low Power Mode is an iPhone battery life saver. To turn on Low Power Mode on iPhone 12 Pro, you can summon Siri and say, “Siri, turn on Low Power Mode”. Alternatively, you can turn Low Power Mode on in Settings manually.

Start the Settings app on your iPhone 12 Pro.
Go to Battery.
Turn on the switch next to Low Power Mode.

Pro-tip:

Better yet, you can add Low Power Mode to your Control Center to be able to easily toggle it on and off. Simply head over to the Control Center tab in the Settings app. From here, you can add, remove, and rearrange your Control Center by tapping the red minus to remove and the green plus to include controls.

12. Turn On Reduce Motion

13. Use Wi-Fi & Turn On Your iPhone’s 12 Pro Airplane Mode in Locations with Poor Reception

If a secure Wi-Fi network is available, log in to it rather than using your cellular data plan. As well, if you are out and about in a location with poor cellular reception, having your iPhone constantly searching for a cell signal will deplete your battery in no time. To prevent iPhone 12 Pro battery drain,

bring up the Control Center by swiping down from the top right of your Home screen, then tap on the Airplane mode icon (it looks like a miniature airplane.) Once you’re back in an area with a strong cellular signal, repeat the above steps to turn off Airplane mode.

Apple’s iPhone 12 series and the company’s new MagSafe chargers promise to solve many of the problems people have with wireless chargers. Wireless charging is a big selling point for the iPhone 12, but not everyone wants to upgrade their phone just to get a frustration-free charging experience.

A common problem that you may be facing, is that your wireless charger simply won’t charge your iPhone. You put your iPhone down, come back in an hour and discover your iPhone has lost charge instead of gained it.

Fix iPhone 12 wireless charging not working

If wireless charging is not working on iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max, continue reading and try these five fixes to see if they can put you back into a powerful position.

Make sure the Charger Is Plugged In

We’ll start with the easiest fix and one that many people overlook. Check to make sure the charger is actually plugged into a power outlet.

You may have inadvertently unplugged either the charger itself or the power strip that the charger was using. Ensure all the power connections are plugged properly and try the next solution if your charger still isn’t working.

Avoid Rushing Things

Are you giving your charger ample time to charge your iPhone? Or are you grabbing your iPhone after 15 minutes because you’re used to fast-charging? Be patient and avoid rushing things.

Most wireless chargers provide 7.5 or 10 watts on the high-end, which is significantly less than the 12 or even 20 watts most plug-in chargers deliver.

Because wireless chargers deliver less power, it’s going to take longer to charge your iPhone.

Take off Your Case

Are you using a case on your iPhone when you are trying to charge? If so, consider taking it off. Most wireless chargers work with a slim case, but can fail if your iPhone is wrapped in a thicker protective case like an Otterbox.

Make sure your iPhone is Aligned properly

Most folks drop their iPhone on a wireless charger and just walk away, assuming their device is gaining charge. What they don’t realize is that wireless charging relies on the proper alignment of the iPhone on the pad. To make a contact that transmits energy to the iPhone, the iPhone’s internal induction coil must line up properly with the induction coil in the wireless charging pad. If the device is even slightly off to the side, then the induction coils won’t line up and the iPhone won’t charge wirelessly.

It’s deceiving because you think the iPhone is charging, but it is not. You have to position the iPhone on the charger pad and wiggle it until you get the right alignment. You’ll be able to tell because the charging indicator on the iPhone will kick on. Once your iPhone is aligned properly, don’t move it as you may lose the connection, and your iPhone won’t charge wirelessly.

Apple has tried to resolve this issue with the introduction of MagSafe chargers. The iPhone 12 features a ring of magnets in the back casing that aligns perfectly with the MagSafe charging surface. These magnets help secure the iPhone, so it can’t be bumped out of place, ensuring a solid connection.

Ensure your wireless charger is Powerful Enough

When buying a wireless charging unit, ensure it is powerful enough to charge your iPhone. A low-power wireless charging pad may not produce enough energy to juice up your iPhone. If the voltage and current are not sufficient enough, then your iPhone may charge very, very slowly, or not charge at all. When this happens, your iPhone may start to charge, but it quickly will stop when the power transfer cannot keep up with the phone’s demands.

What draws you to investing in a new mobile phone? After all, this is something that is going to be accompanying you around wherever you go, allowing you to access everything you could need to tap into your communication and reference sources, not to mention providing an excellent and reliable camera. So, as well as containing the latest in streamlined software, it’s going to have to be compact and look sleek and professional whenever you flip it from your pocket.

The iPhone 12 doesn’t disappoint on the design front. Apple has always gone out of their way to combine functionality with supreme design considerations. Can you think of any of their products, from iPods to iPads, MacBook Air laptops to Apple watches, that have looked anything other than lustrous and attractive? This high bar was certainly achieved as far back as the universally-acclaimed iPhone 4, and this latest upgrade has taken that stunning design and added polished stainless still to give it a contemporary feel, not to mention a third camera on the back of the device.

iOS System: Is it as secure as they say?

The iOS operating system is one of the few mobile platforms that does not need antivirus software; at least that is what the developers say. Antivirus programs are redundant due to some specific architectural features of iOS. The operating system simply does not provide mobile apps with access to the file system. Thus, any antivirus scan is problematic in principle.

Nevertheless, what are the odds you will need it? Let’s look at why the iPhone has such strong protection or why it may need one.

Specifics of iOS

This is a well-known fact that all applications in iOS run in the sandbox. This is an isolated environment from which they cannot have direct access to the operating system components and other programs. Precisely this feature ensures a high level of security of the OS. When working in a sandbox, the application interacts only with its data and resources, so the malicious program will simply have no chance to infiltrate.

Moreover, Apple allows the installation of applications to mobile devices exclusively from its own App Store. And they get there after a fairly close inspection. “Unhappy” iPhone owners are denied the opportunity to use the “Allow the installation of applications from unknown sources” function, which is usual for Android users.

Outdated devices problem

However, along with securing the device, such tight restrictions deprive iOS owners (iPhone and iPad) of several useful features. If your iPhone belongs to an outdated model range and its OS is already out of date, sooner or later, you will face a complete inability to install or update the application you need through the App Store. It creates room for the possible virus attack.

There are two ways out of the deadlock:

buying a new and updated device;
jailbreak.

Jailbreak means using special utilities to hack the operating system. It allows you to get access to the file system not authorized by the phone manufacturer, and besides, install applications from third-party application directories (repositories) or, in some cases, directly from your computer.

Corporate internal application installing

Another loophole allows users to almost officially install various applications on iPhones and iPads, bypassing the App Store. It is called Mobile Device Management (MDM). It is a set of tools that allows you to manage iOS devices in a corporate environment. In particular, it is used to install various internal applications on the
Apple devices owned by corporate employees that are not intended for general distribution outside the company.

Such programs can be delivered to iOS devices without uploading them to the App Store and meticulous testing. The method has several security limitations designed to exclude its possible use by hackers.

Does all this mean that the existence of viruses for iOS is impossible in principle, and users of Apple devices can feel completely safe? Unfortunately, no. And yet, viruses for iOS exist. Below, we will talk about the most famous virus spreading technologies for iOS.

MDM technology and iOS malware

Because of Apple’s high-security mechanisms in its mobile operating system’s architecture, creating full-fledged malware for this platform turned out to be complicated. Nevertheless, it was made, and it came as no surprise to the experts. Being unable to enter iOS through a front door, an attacker can always break through a window.

Cybercriminals started to use the same mechanism for distributing MDM applications using corporate certificates to spread Trojan programs. Using this technology, it is quite possible to implement targeted precision attacks, which was proven in practice in the summer of 2018. Among other things, an attacker can be, for example, an offended employee of a company using MDM if he has access to the server.

In 2015, a broad distribution of the YiSpecter Trojan using MDM was arranged. The malware was hidden in a client application, which was a video player for viewing pornography. Although it was distributed mainly in China, YiSpecter was one of the first real viruses capable of infecting an iPhone without jailbreak.

iOS viruses and DRM technology

Trojans that did not use MDM to spread originated from the same place where most original IT developments come from, i.e., China. As you know, iPhone applications must be purchased from the official App Store. If the program is honestly bought on this resource and is listed on the user’s account, they can install it on the phone later by connecting it to the computer using a USB-Lighting cable and using iTunes.

When launched, the program will check the user’s Apple ID and ask for an authorization code to ensure that the application installed on the mobile device was actually legally purchased by this user. It uses Apple’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology. To bypass this check, the Chinese have come up with a unique program that emulates iTunes’ actions.

Having bought an application from the App Store, the creators of this program intercept and save the authorization code using a vulnerability in the DRM implementation and then transfer it to all other application users. As a result, they get the opportunity to install on their iPhone or iPad a program that they did not pay for. One of these applications is called Aisi.

Aisi allows users of Apple devices to install illegal software and update and create backup copies of the firmware, jailbreak, download ringtones, and various multimedia content to the phone. When launched, the application asked for your Apple ID account information. This information was immediately sent to the control server.

Bottom Line

In the end, the leak of Apple ID opens up a lot of opportunities for potential attackers. They can change the password, lock the device, and demand a ransom from its owner for unlocking, as ransomware does.
