Is your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro hotspot not working? Find out why you can’t tether your iPhone.

If your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro has failed to enable personal hotspot, your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro hotspot is not discoverable, or you’re encountering any other hotspot problems, keep reading. We’re going to look at how to fix iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Hotspot problems.

There’s not just one thing that causes your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Personal Hotspot to stop working. We’ll include some information about why Personal Hotspot might be having problems along with each solution below. These are the most common causes and ways to fix an iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Personal Hotspot that isn’t working.

How to Fix iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Personal Hotspot Is Not Working

If your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Personal Hotspot isn’t working, follow these suggestions—in this order—to get it working again.

Make Sure Tethering Is Enabled

It sounds obvious, but are you sure that you’ve turned on personal hotspot in your iPhone’s settings? Even if it was previously enabled, you might have deactivated it by accident via the Control Center, or perhaps an iOS update turned it off without your knowledge. If it’s not turned on, your iPhone hotspot won’t be discoverable. You can check whether your personal hotspot is enabled by going to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot or just Settings > Personal Hotspot and ensure the toggle is in the On position.

Turn Personal Hotspot Off and On

Sometimes you need to reset your Personal Hotspot to get it working again. Do that by turning it on and off: Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot > move the Allow Others to Join slider to off/white and then back to on/green.

Turn Cellular Data On and Off

The problem with Personal Hotspot might be related to your iPhone’s connection to cellular data networks. If your iPhone 13 or iPhone13 Pro is having trouble connecting to those networks, Personal Hotspot might not work either. Reset your cellular data connection by turning it on and off: Go to Settings > Cellular > move the Cellular Data slider to off/white and back to on/green.

Restart iPhone to Fix Personal Hotspot

You’d be surprised how often a simple restart of your iPhone will fix all kinds of problems. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Shut Down.

Try a Different Connection Method

Most people assume that in order to use a personal hotspot, you need to use a Wi-Fi connection. That’s not true. You can also use Bluetooth or even a trusty USB cable to make the connection.

By trying alternative hotspot connection methods, you can rule out (or establish!) a problem with your phone’s Wi-Fi hardware. To use a different connection method, you’ll still need to enable your personal hotspot as described earlier.

If you’re attempting to use Bluetooth, you need to pair your iPhone with the computer or mobile device you’re trying to share the hotspot with. On an iPhone, that means you need to go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap on the name of the device in question.

The process on your other device will be specific to the operating system. Refer to the manual. If this is the first time that you’ve connected the other device, you may need to go through a PIN verification process.

Using a USB cable to connect to a hotspot is as simple as connecting your iPhone to a computer and selecting the hotspot from the list of available networks. USB also benefits from being the fastest type of connection. If speed is important to you, this is the best solution.

Update iOS

Every new version of the iOS—the operating system that runs on the iPhone—includes bug fixes. Your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Personal Hotspot might not be working due to a bug that’s fixed by an iOS update. Install the latest version of iOS to see if it fixes your problem.

Enable Maximize Compatibility on your iPhone

The iPhone 13 series phones have some different networking features and options than earlier devices, including 5G. These options can sometimes cause a problem for older models connecting to them. Solve this by going to Settings > Personal Hotspot > move the Maximize Compatibility slider to on/green.

Update Carrier Settings to Fix Personal Hotspot

Every iPhone has a hidden set of carrier settings. These settings help your iPhone work with your phone company. Carriers issue updates from time to time, though not as often as iOS updates. If Personal Hotspot isn’t working, check for and install available carrier settings updates by going to Settings > General > About.

Confirm Your Phone Plan Includes Personal Hotspot

Have you changed your phone plan recently or switched phone companies? Personal Hotspot might not be working because your plan doesn’t include it. Most phone companies’ data plans include Personal Hotspot these days, but some don’t. You may also be able to remove the feature. So, before you do anything else, log into your phone company account and make sure your plan includes Personal Hotspot. If it doesn’t, add it.

Reset Network Settings

iOS offers a built-in way to erase user data and restore settings to the factory defaults. However, you can also take a more granular approach by only removing certain kinds of data.

In the case of your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro personal hotspot not working, you only need to delete the network settings. To do so, head to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. You will need to enter your passcode before the phone lets you proceed.

The reset process will remove all your Wi-Fi and carrier settings and delete your custom iPhone name. This will give you a blank slate to make sure there wasn’t an erroneous network setting causing iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro hotspot problem.

Note: After resetting the network settings, you’ll need to pair Bluetooth devices again and enter Wi-Fi passwords again.

Sign Out of iCloud

Some people have also claimed that logging out of your iCloud account can resolve iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro personal hotspot not working Issue. It’s not clear why doing do so would fix a network issue, but it’s worth a shot if nothing else has solved it.

To sign out of your iCloud account, go to Settings > [Username] > Sign Out. Make sure you log back into your account to re-enable your iCloud services.

Reset Your iPhone

The last-ditch solution is to wipe the operating system—along with all your user data—and reset your entire iPhone.

You can go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings to begin the process. But you should be sure to make a backup first.

Alternatively, you can also achieve the same outcome by using Finder or iTunes on a computer. Connect your phone to your computer, open the Finder or iTunes app, choose your iPhone in the left-hand panel, and click on Restore iPhone.

What to Do If iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Personal Hotspot Still Isn’t Working

At this point, if iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Personal Hotspot still isn’t working, it’s time to bring in the professionals. You can contact Apple for tech support over online live chat or make a genius bar appointment for in-person support at your local Apple Store. If anyone can help with a problem this stubborn, it’s Apple.

No text or message notification coming in even from your favorites or in emergencies?

It’s really frustrating when your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is not alerting you of texts! How it’s supposed to work: you receive any new message, your iPhone alerts you with a sound, an on-screen alert, and a vibration.

This process should work for all new incoming messages, whether it’s an iMessage or an SMS text. But if you find it’s not working as it should, and your iPhone 13 Pro not alerting you to new texts, we’ve got some tips to fix it quickly!

There are many reasons why your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro may fail to receive text notifications, including problems with the cellular network or simple software oversights. Problems may only reveal themselves once they are fixed.

Follow these instructions to get your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro receiving text notifications again.

Check Your iPhone Text Message Sound Effect & Select a Text Tone

Yup, sometimes it’s the easy things that fall through the cracks. So let’s make sure that you selected a tone for your incoming text messages!

Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > and scroll down to the section Sounds and Vibration Patterns. In this section, look for Text Tone.

If this says None, tap it and change the alert to something you like.

Use Your Text Tone Default!

Here is another quick solution, just change your text sound to the default and simple Ding or Note. Readers noticed problems with texts not consistently sounding alerts when using longer alert tones. So stick with the defaults!

To update, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Text Tone and change to the default, listed in parenthesis such as Note (Default.)

Alerts Not Sounding For Just A Few Contacts? Look at your custom settings for each contact

Pull up one of the contacts that’s not alerting you (open either the Phone or Contacts app)
Tap Edit in the top right corner
Scroll down to Text Tone and look at the selected sound
If none is listed, tap and select a new Alert Tone from the list and tap Done

Look at Date & Time

It’s always good to check that our date and time are correct and ideally toggle on “Set Automatically.” If your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro time is incorrect, this may explain why you aren’t getting notifications and alerts promptly.

A mismatch with your Date&Time can cause a whole host of problems. So let’s check it out. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and toggle on Set Automatically. If this is already on, toggle it off, wait 20 seconds, and turn it back on again.

Check your Message app settings for Filtering Unknown Senders and Blocked Contacts

If you are not receiving texts from folks and businesses that aren’t in your Contacts app, you likely enabled the settings for Filter Unknown Senders. This feature automatically turns off notifications for messages from people and others who aren’t saved in your Contacts.

To change this setting, go to Settings > Messages > Unknown & Spam and turn off Filter Unknown Senders.

Take a look at your Blocked Contacts list

You may have inadvertently added someone to your blocked list.

If you blocked someone in FaceTime, iMessage, the Phone app, or in the Mail app, that block is active on all those apps. So when you block a phone number or contact, messages that are sent or received by that contact won’t be delivered. Blocked contacts can still leave a voicemail, but you won’t get a notification for that voicemail. And when you block an email address from Mail, it goes to the trash folder.

To look at your blocked contacts list, go to Settings > Messages. Under SMS/MMS, tap Blocked Contacts. Swipe to remove them from the blocked list.

You can also find this blocked contact list in the these apps:

  • The Phone App. Go to Settings > Phone. Tap Blocked Contacts to see the list
  • FaceTime. Go to Settings > FaceTime. Under Calls, tap Blocked Contacts
  • The Mail App. Go to Settings > Mail. Under Threading, tap Blocked.

Update Notification Banners

Often, your new text notifications appear but disappear so quickly that you may just miss seeing them. Fortunately, there’s a way to change your text banners from temporary to persistent.

Persistent banners require you to take action before they disappear, while temporary banners go away after a short time on-screen. Both types appear at the top of your screen.

So if you’re missing notifications, try changing to persistent banners and see if this makes a difference. Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages and just below Show as Banners, tap on the icon for Persistent.

Confirm your selection by checking that the word Persistent is circled.

No Text or Message Notification on iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro? Check Do Not Disturb (DND)

First, check and see if you’ve accidentally (or purposefully) turned on Do Not Disturb. Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb and make sure it’s toggled OFF.

Check if you accidentally turned on Hide Alerts

Sometimes the crescent moon icon doesn’t even show up when DND is activated for a single contact, so it’s a good idea to check that contact, even if you don’t see the crescent moon.

Tap the Message thread and then tap on the name at the top. Edit the contact’s details by pressing the “i” and turn OFF Hide Alerts (or Do Not Disturb.)

Alternatively, if you already know which contacts’ texts are not alerting, tap on a message from the contact and press the “i” and toggle OFF Hide Alerts.

Look at Bluetooth

If you’ve recently connected to a Bluetooth device, sometimes that connection remains and iOS sends alerts to it rather than your iPhone.

To check, go to Settings > Bluetooth and check if any of your Bluetooth devices are connected and routing sound. If so, disconnect or unpair that Bluetooth device.

Alternatively, if you’re not currently using any Bluetooth device, disconnect devices by swiping up Control Center or turn Bluetooth off by going to Settings > Bluetooth > Off.

Paired with an Apple Watch?

If your iPhone pairs to an Apple Watch, by design your paired iPhone does not chime when a new text arrives. Instead, Apple routes your alerts to your Apple Watch, especially when the iPhone is locked.

As of now, there is no option to play a sound alert on BOTH your Apple Watch and your iPhone at the same time. It’s one or the other, based on the locked status of your phone.

The rule of thumb is if your phone is unlocked, notifications go to the iPhone. If your phone is locked, notifications go to your watch.

If you’re experiencing a problem with notifications not routing to your Apple Watch correctly, it’s best to unpair and then repair your Apple Watch to your iPhone.

Check Your Side or Ring/Volume (Mute) Switch

Take a look at your device’s silent switch button and toggle it OFF.

If your switch shows orange, it’s on. That means it’s in silent mode and vibrates for all alerts and incoming calls
When in silent mode, the alarms you set in the Clock app still sound and calls from Favorite contacts still ring.

Change What Sends & Receives

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Look under the section: iMessage At Can reach you. If checked, deselect your email address. Select only your phone number and see if that solves the problem.

Turn Notifications ON

It’s common to turn notifications off inadvertently. So best to make sure they are indeed on. Check Settings > Notifications > Messages > Toggle ON Allow Notifications.

Next, make sure you choose an excellent alert sound. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Text Tones. And pick an alert sound that you like and that you’ll definitely hear.

No notifications or alerts when the phone is locked?

Not getting notified of messages coming in when iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is locked? If you don’t see or hear any alerts when your iPhone 13 locks, enable the Show on Lock Screen setting.

Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages and verify that Show on Lock Screen is toggled on.

For sound alerts, also check that Settings > Notifications > Messages > Sounds has an alert type selected and does not display None unless that’s the setting you want.

Go to Settings > Face ID. Enter your passcode to validate access
Scroll down to Allow Access hen Locked
Toggle On Notification Center
And toggle on anything else you want to appear on your device’s Lock Screen.

Update Your iPhone to the Latest Version of iOS

It’s common for iOS updates to introduce new problems to your iPhone. In fact, previous iOS updates have been known to cause problems with text notifications not working on iPhone 13.

When this happens, Apple usually releases a new update in the next couple of weeks to fix it. Make sure you’re running the latest version of iOS so you benefit from Apple’s repair patches.

To update your iPhone software:

Connect your iPhone to a working Wi-Fi network.
Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Wait for your iPhone to check for new software updates.
Download and install any available iOS updates.

Restart your iPhone

If nothing helped thus far, restart your iDevice by going to settings > General > Shut Down and sliding it off. Then turn on as usual.

If that doesn’t help, try a forced restart

Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Then press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Finally, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo
A forced restart is a hardware level restart of your device. It immediately cuts power and interrupts all processes. That means it clears what’s in the RAM, which in turn often fixes minor issues. And don’t worry, there’s no data loss–all your apps, games, photos, documents and login settings remain as is!

After performing a forced restart, make sure you check your Notification Settings to ensure everything is set-up as you want. Sometimes a forced reboot changes specific settings back to defaults. So the best insurance is to double or even triple check!

Reset Network Settings

. The iPhone Network Settings are a group of preferences that control how the phone accesses cellular networks. Errors in those settings could interfere with sending texts. To solve these problems, reset your Network Settings. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Transfer or reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Don’t worry; this action DOES NOT impact your data, including apps, photos, documents, files, and so forth. It does wipe out any WiFi passwords, so write those down before you reset your network settings.

Reset all Settings

If none of the tips work for you, let’s try and reset all your iPhone settings. Don’t worry; this action DOES NOT impact your data.

But it does return all your personalized settings to defaults, meaning you need to re-enter things like passwords, Touch ID fingerprints, WiFi passcodes and so forth. So, yup, it’s very time-consuming, but many of our readers report it works.

Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings

iPhone 13 not getting text notifications: Fixed

Hopefully, text notifications are working for new messages on your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro. If so, let us know what fixed it in the comments!

Is your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro not Sending text messages? Worry not, the problem seems fixable.

When your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro can’t send text messages, you may feel cut off from friends and family. There are many reasons why your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro may fail to send text messages, including problems with the cellular network insufficient airtime, wrong settings, or simple software oversights.

See also: iOS 15: Cellular Data Not Working On iPhone? Fix!

If your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro can’t send text messages, follow these simple tips to fix the issue.

  • If your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is not sending text messages, first make sure your phone has service, as the issue may be with the cellular network, not your device itself.
  • Check in your iPhone’s Settings app that various messaging options are turned on so that your phone can dispatch texts if iMessage fails.
  • Turning your iPhone 13 off and back on again can usually refresh the software and restore better signal connections, enabling your text messages to send once again.

‘why is my iPhone 13 not sending text messages?’

There are a number of reasons why your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is not sending text messages. Let’s review those possible reasons and then cover some troubleshooting steps.

Cell Service Issues Can Prevent iPhone 13 from Sending Text Messages

Before proceeding with troubleshooting, let’s cover the most obvious service related reasons why an iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro won’t send a text message:

  • The iPhone has no cellular signal – no SMS text messages can be sent without a traditional cell signal
  • The iPhone has no service – if the iPhone does not have a cellular service plan active, it will not be able to send text messages
  • The cellular reception is so bad that iPhone 13 can’t send a text message – if service is awful (think 1 bar or 1 dot or cycling between “Searching…” and dots), the phone likely won’t be able to send or receive text messages
  • The cell number you are reaching is disconnected – this is often the problem if the recipient has recently changed a phone number or you have multiple contact numbers for the same person, so be sure you are addressing the proper phone number
  • AirPlane mode is enabled, thereby disabling the ability to send messages and text messages – toggling AirPlane mode off will fix this specific issue quickly

It’s pretty obvious when a text message doesn’t send (or iMessage too), you’ll see a little red (!) bang exclamation sign next to the message, usually with a ‘not delivered’ message.

If any of those service related issues are the problem, you’ll need to either regain a stronger cellular signal with the iPhone, or reactivate a cellular service plan if applicable, or insure the proper contact is being messaged. If the cellular connection or service is not the issue, continue on with troubleshooting techniques to fix SMS transmission from iPhones.

If you are not able to send texts on iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, these troubleshooting steps can help you fix the issue. Before getting started, it’s always a good idea to test your ability to send texts to a few different people, if possible. That could yield some clues as to what the problem might be.

Quit and restart the Messages app

Sometimes apps need to be quit and restarted to solve problems related to memory management. Force-quit the messaging app, then try again.

Check the phone number

Confirm that you are texting the right number. If you entered the number wrong or the intended recipient now has a new number, you may be prevented from sending the text.

Enable send as SMS

Most iPhone users have iMessage enabled, but some may have accidentally (or intentionally) turned off SMS support. So, make sure that your iPhone can send a message as a regular text message when iMessage isn’t available. You can do this by going to Settings app and tap on Messages. Scroll down and then turn on the toggle for Send as SMS.

Check the reception

Mobile networks are sometimes unpredictable. If you see a few or no bars, step outside or find a higher place indoors. If you’re in your home, you can use a signal booster to improve reception throughout the home.

Turn Off and On Airplane Mode

Open the Settings app and tap on the icon for Airplane Mode to enable it. After 30 seconds, tap on the same toggle to disable it. Now, Check if Your iPhone 13 is sending texts. It should work.

Restart Your iPhone

Even after following the above fix, if you have trouble sending texts on your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, try restarting your device. Often times rebooting an iPhone is sufficient to remedy problems like this. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Shut Down. After a minute, turn on your iPhone and see if you can send messages. The issue will most likely be fixed.

Remove & Reinsert iPhone’s SIM Card

For this, you can use the ejector tool or a pin to remove the SIM card carefully. Next, slowly and with caution, rub it on a soft dry cloth and insert it back.

Update iOS

Install any outstanding operating system updates, even if an update doesn’t seem relevant to the problem you experience. Some bug fixes and other repairs may address operations or features the texting app uses. Wait for any updates to finish before texting.

  1. Open the Settings app and tap on General.
  2. Next, tap on Software Update. If you see a pending update available, tap on Download and Install.

Once the process completes, there is a strong possibility that the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro not sending texts issue will be successfully addressed.

Update Carrier settings

Your iPhone 13 has hidden carrier settings that help your phone communicate with the cellular network to place calls, transmit data, and send texts. Wireless carriers periodically update these settings. Make sure you have the latest version by updating your carrier settings. You can do this by going to Settings > General > About.

If there is an update available, the option to update will appear here.

Check your cellular provider’s website

If nothing else works, look for any alerts or updates concerning network issues. Network problems may not be immediately obvious to end users, or may only affect certain functions.

Make Sure your iPhone’s Date and Time is correct

Not just text messages, but several applications and services won’t work properly if your iPhone is set to the wrong time zone. To check if your iPhone has the correct time and date, go to Settings app > General > Date & Time > turn on the toggle for Set Automatically.

Reset Network Settings on iPhone

If you think that network is the culprit behind the problem of iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro not sending texts messages, you can Reset Network Settings. Resetting network settings can be a pain because you lose wi-fi passwords and custom DNS, but it can also be a cure-all solution for many common networking issues with iPhone, including the inability to send messages. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Transfer or reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Enter your iPhone passcode and confirm.

Reset All Settings

If the above less severe reset did not work, You can do this by going to Settings > General > Transfer or reset iPhone > Erase all content and settings. The consequences of this are more significant.

It will erase or return to default, all settings you have ever changed on your iPhone. This includes keyboard settings, Home Screen layout, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VPN, Location Settings, and more. But, it won’t delete any personal data like photos, videos, apps, music, etc.

Contact Your Carrier

Finally, if nothing helps, contact your mobile carrier. You can reach them via email, Twitter, or use their mobile app. Make sure there is no pending bill or unpaid charges that have resulted in the suspension of the service.

That’s all!

These are some of the ways to fix iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro not sending texts Messages issue. I hope one of the solutions helped you out of this problem. Know of any other tricks to resolve an inability to send text messages on iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro? Drop a comment and let us know!

Is your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro not detecting SIM card? There are many reasons why your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro won’t read the SIM card. Some possible causes could be that you didn’t insert the SIM card correctly or your phone is experiencing a software glitch. Whatever the reason, a solution needs to be found quickly when your iPhone 13 says: “No SIM card installed” or “Invalid SIM”

Your iPhone ‘s SIM card or Subscriber Identity Module card is the key that creates a unique connection between your phone number and the phone itself.
Without a SIM card that’s working properly, your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro cannot place or receive calls, send or receive text messages, or access the internet via cellular connection.

When the SIM card isn’t recognized, your iPhone 13 can’t send or receive calls or texts or connect to the internet via cellular service.

But don’t panic, your iPhone’s cellular days probably aren’t over in fact, you can likely troubleshoot the SIM card issue yourself in just a few minutes. You just need to determine what the issue is first.

Why Does My iPhone 13 Say Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed?

There are a number of things that can cause the Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed message to appear on your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro. These can include:

  • An out-of-place SIM card or tray
  • A system malfunction
  • SIM card damage
  • A glitchy software update

Unfortunately, with the exception of a misplaced or damaged SIM card, the cause of your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed error isn’t always readily apparent.

What to do if you see ‘invalid SIM’ or ‘no SIM’ on your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro

The easiest way to resolve the ‘invalid SIM’ or ‘no SIM’ error on your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is to work through the quickest potential fixes first, so we recommend tackling the troubleshooting steps in the order below.

Here are some fixes for those times when your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro can’t detect the SIM card:

#1. Confirm You Have an Active Plan With Your Carrier

This might seem like cliché fix, but do you currently have an active plan with a cellular carrier? If not, you won’t be able to make calls, send texts, or otherwise access a mobile network. Similarly, if it’s been a while since you’ve used the SIM card in question or paid your cellphone bill, your carrier might have canceled your number, either temporarily or for good. Check on your carrier’s app or contact them directly to ensure that your phone number is on an account and in good standing.

#2. Turn On (and Off) Airplane Mode

Toggling your iPhone’s cellular data is one of the simplest ways to fix an array of network-related problems, including ‘invalid SIM’ or ‘no SIM’ errors. You can do this by opening the Control Center and turn Airplane Mode on and off.

#3. Restart Your iPhone

As a wise man once told me, “try turning it off and back on again.” Occasionally, a minor software hiccup might cause your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro to say Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed. Whether force restart or simple, hard reset or soft, this oldie-but-goodie troubleshooting tip might be all your iPhone needs to recognize your SIM card.
To restart your iPhone:
press and hold both the Volume Down and right Side buttons until you see the Power Off slider. Then drag the slider, wait for your iPhone to shut down, and turn your iPhone back on.

#4. Remove and Reinsert Your SIM Card and Tray

When it comes to a fully functioning iPhone, almost everything is riding on the delicate balancing act that is a SIM card in its tray. If your iPhone 12 Pro has taken a tumble recently, or if the SIM tray was unceremoniously shoved into the slot, it’s possible that the SIM card has been jostled out of place or otherwise damaged.
Just turn off your iPhone, grab your straightened-out paperclip (or the actual SIM tray ejector tool, if you’re a responsible adult), insert it into the small hole next to the tray (on the right side and apply gentle pressure. If the tray is especially difficult to remove, this could indicate that it was indeed inserted improperly.
While the SIM card is out, take some time to inspect it for any scratches or other damage and wipe it off with a soft cloth. If everything looks ok, carefully nestle the SIM card back in the tray and reinsert it into your iPhone.

#5. Update iOS

From time to time, a glitch in the software might cause your SIM card to appear invalid or make it look like you have no SIM card in your iPhone 13 at all. Fortunately, Apple is usually quick to spot these buggy updates and release a new version. To manually check if an iOS update is available, go to Settings > General > Software Update, then select Download and Install if necessary. Be sure to back up your iPhone before actually installing any updates just in case.

#6. Check for a Carrier Settings Update

Similar to Apple with iOS updates, your carrier might also release the occasional update to help improve cellular connectivity on your network. Slacking on these updates not only results in you missing out on the latest technology from your mobile provider, but it could also cause your SIM card to not work properly.
To manually see whether a carrier settings update is available, connect to WiFi then go to Settings > General > About, then select Update if prompted.

#7. Reset Your Network Settings

If you’re still struggling with an Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed alert, it could be due to a software error within your phone’s network settings. This includes WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular data, and any VPN you might have. The easiest way to resolve this is by resetting your network settings. Keep in mind that this will erase any WiFi passwords you have saved, so be sure to write any important passwords down for your reference later.
To do this, go to Settings > General > Transfer or reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. When prompted, enter your iPhone’s passcode, then tap Reset Network Settings again to confirm.

#8. Try Another SIM Card

Well, you’ve updated, restarted, and reset almost everything possible. Before we go for the nuclear option, it’s worth confirming that your SIM card isn’t the problem. Borrow a SIM card from a friend or go to your carrier’s store and ask for one to test with.
If the Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed error goes away, it’s safe to say that your SIM card is the culprit and it’s time to replace it. If not, it’s probably your phone. Fortunately, there’s one more thing you can try before waving the white flag of defeat.

#9. Factory Reset Your iPhone

If you’ve followed the previous steps and your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is still struggling with SIM card issues, consider a factory reset your last-ditch effort to fix it. It should go without saying, but be sure to save a backup copy of your iPhone before restoring it to factory settings.
To factory reset your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings. When prompted, confirm your identity using Face ID, or a passcode then select Erase iPhone.

If All Else Fails, Contact Apple

Hopefully walking through the above steps solves your iPhone 13 Invalid SIM or No SIM Card installed problem, but if not, the best thing you can do is contact your carrier’s customer care team, reach out to Apple support, or go into an Apple Store. Depending on your mobile plan and which carrier you choose, a replacement SIM card can run the gamut as far as prices. Check your Wi-Fi connection

You need an internet connection (either via Wi-Fi or a cellular-data connection) to use FaceTime – if you’re not seeing a Wi-Fi signal where it usually appears, you may need to go into your settings and turn Wi-Fi off and then back on again. It’s also a good idea to restart your router and modem. To restart your router and modem, unplug them from the power outlet. Let them sit like that for 30 seconds before plugging them back in.

Check that FaceTime is turned on

Head over to Settings, tap FaceTime , and make sure that the toggle next to FaceTime is enabled. If you see a ” Waiting for activation ” notification, toggle FaceTime off and then on again.

If you aren’t seeing FaceTime at all, go from the Settings app to Screen Time, and then Content & Privacy Restrictions , followed by Allowed Apps . Then make sure both the camera and FaceTime are allowed by that device.

Make sure you’re signed in

To use FaceTime, you need to be signed in with your Apple ID or phone number. You can check this by going to your Settings on an iPhone and making sure that below the FaceTime toggle, your phone number or Apple ID is listed.

Check Apple Servers

Sometimes even Apple servers go down. So it’s a good idea to check in with Apple’s System Status to see if there are any on-going service issues with FaceTime and associated services like iMessage and iCloud.

Check date And Time

If the time and date on your iPhone are wrong, it may cause problems with FaceTime. We recommend that you set the date and time automatically if FaceTime keeps failing on your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro. Most of us do this anyway, but you should make sure it’s enabled in the settings on your iPhone. To check and set it, go to Settings > General > Date and Time. Then, choose Set Automatically.

Restart IPhone

Sometimes a quick restart can fix issues like apps not working. This advice is the same for when FaceTime isn’t working on iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro. It’s best to close all your apps first to make sure you don’t lose any unsaved progress and to ensure they start fresh after restarting. You can restart your iPhone by going to settings > General > shut down. Wait until the phone turns off completely. Leave it off for at least 30 seconds before you turn it back on.

Check for iOS update

Certain firmware versions of iOS may have wireless connectivity issues that could prevent you from using FaceTime properly. This is more likely to happen if you’re on a public or developer beta version of iOS, but Apple usually issues a hotfix with another update. So, make sure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version by going to Settings > General > Software Update. If you do have a pending update, you’ll be notified here and you can tap on “Install Now” to begin the update process.

Check The Blocked List

If have a problem when using FaceTime on iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, make sure you’ve not blocked particular phone number. Head to Settings > FaceTime > Blocked contacts. See if the contacts you are trying to FaceTime with are listed here or not.

Reset Network Settings

If you find FaceTime not working on iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, the issue may be related to network settings. However, this can be easily resolved by resetting your network settings. Be mindful that you’ll lose your saved Bluetooth connections, Wi-Fi networks and passwords once you reset these settings. To do this, head over to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If you’re still having issues, it could be that the person you’re trying to call is experiencing issues, like a weak Wi-Fi connection. Double-check this by trying to FaceTime someone else. Or if your network is behind a firewall, you might have to ask your administrator to enable the necessary ports to let FaceTime work.

It’s also likely that you’re trying to contact someone who lives in a country where FaceTime is unavailable or their devices aren’t updated yet. There’s also a slim chance that the person you’re attempting to start a FaceTime call with has switched to a non-Apple device.

You might also want to contact Apple Support or figure out how to talk to a live person at Apple for further assistance and try to resolve the problem at the earliest.

Is your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro not making calls? If you’re experiencing this problem, we’ve compiled a list of solutions you can try when your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is not making calls.

When your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro can’t make calls, you really notice the absence. This is especially the case if you want to make an important call or if you need your phone for work.

This iPhone 13 call failure issue can be caused by different factors such as poor network reception, or you mistakenly turned off your sim card from settings. Regardless of why your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro won’t make calls, the solutions explain in this article should get you back up and running in no time.

Let’s look at how to fix an iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro that won’t make calls.

Use These Nifty Tips to Fix iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro not making calls issue

1. Check for signal

Assuming your iPhone is indeed switched on, you should check if it’s receiving a signal. This can be done easily on on an iPhone by looking in the corner of your phone at the signal indicator.

The signal indicator is located at the top-right corner of the screen. Even a single bar should indicate enough of a signal to make calls. However, if the signal occasionally drops out so that you see “No Service”, you may find that calls don’t work.

If this is the case, you should try moving to an area or location with a stronger signal. Note that certain locations and premises — such as tunnels and underground car parks — will prevent you from receiving any signal. As such, look for places on or above ground that aren’t too remote (i.e., that aren’t out in the middle of nowhere).

2. Disable Airplane Mode

When checking the signal bar, you may instead find a symbol indicating Airplane Mode (this will usually look like a plane). If you do, this means Airplane Mode is enabled and that you can’t receive any kind of communications signal. It also means you’ll have to switch it off if you want to make or receive calls. You can do this on an iPhone by going to Settings and turn off the toggle next to AirPlane Mode.

3. Check your phone contract/contact your carrier

One reason why your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro can’t make calls may be that there’s a problem with your carrier. For example, there could be a network outages. Alternatively, you can check sites such as Downdetector for third-party updates on network statuses.

4. Remove and reactivate SIM card

Similar to the perennial reboot advice you get from IT departments, it’s usually worth removing your SIM card and reinserting it again. Doing this effectively de- and reactivates the card, hopefully removing any issues that were preventing your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro from making calls.

The iPhone 13 series has the SIM slot on the left side. The SIM sits in a small tray that will pop out. You can pull the SIM tray with a small tool, provided in the phone box. If you don’t have this handy, you can bend a paper clip or use the back of an earring.

5. Reset network settings

As with your SIM card, you can try resetting your network settings if you still can’t make calls on your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro. This clears your phone of any stored data that might potentially interfere with its functioning. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

6. Update iOS

Yes, we’re starting to get a little desperate now, but updating to the most recent version of iOS software can often help in cases where your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro won’t make calls. You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, tap Download and Install.

7. Update Carrier settings

Make sure that your phone is operating properly on your network, and do need to be updated from time to time. To update your carrier settings, head over to Settings > General > About.

If there is an update available, the option to update will appear here. Also by going to Settings > General > About, you can see which version of your carrier settings that you’re running on your device.
Bear in mind that if you install a new SIM card, it’s necessary for phone functionality for you to update your carrier settings before making a call.

8. Factory resets and Apple fixes

If you’ve tried all of the above steps and you still can’t make calls on iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro, you may want to consider a factory reset. This is basically the nuclear option as far as any problem or bug is concerned, but it can resolve issues in certain cases. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.

Needless to say, you should always backup your device before performing a factory reset. However, if this and every other option fails, it may be time to contact Apple support and inquire into a potential repair or replacement.

Use These Nifty Tips to Fix iPhone 13 Battery Drain Issues

How to Fix iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Battery Drain Problems

To fix battery drain problems on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max, follow the tips below:

1. Disable Background App Refresh

How to Fix battery drain Issue on iPhone 13, Pro, Max, and mini

The first thing to do when troubleshooting battery drain issues with your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is to disable Background App Refresh. Background App Refresh can impact battery life, so turning it off can help make your battery last longer. To do that, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and turning off the background app refresh toggle.

2. Use WiFi Whenever Possible

WiFi consumes less battery than a cellular connection, so to maximize battery life on your iPhone 13, consider connecting to WiFi whenever possible. At home or work, for example, WiFi should be activated, saving cellular data and battery life.

3. Use 5G Auto Instead of 5G On

If you don’t have access to WiFi, try to switch to 5G Auto. 5G can consume a lot of your iPhone’s battery life. 5G Auto will only use 5G when it will not reduce battery life significantly. You can change these options by navigating to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice and Data and choose 5G Auto or LTE. This will potentially fix iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max battery drain issue.

4. Turn off Automatic Downloads and App Updates

The automatic downloads feature is designed to sync apps between all of your devices by downloading apps that were downloaded on one device on the other devices as well. So if you download an app on an iPad, for example, Automatic Download will also download the app on your iPhone and this can cause battery to drain faster. You can turn this feature off by going to Settings > App Store. Toggle off Apps and App Updates.

You can also turn off automatic iOS updates if desired by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates. Tap the toggle to turn updates off.

5. Turn Off Location Services

How to Fix battery drain Issue on iPhone 13, Pro, Max, and mini

If the location services are turned on, your iPhone will consistently update the location of the iPhone, thereby consuming battery life. To fix it, head over to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and then toggle it Off.

6. Adjust Auto-Lock and Turn Off Raise to Wake

If you are still experiencing iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max battery drain issue, it’s a good idea to set the Auto-Lock on the display as low as you can tolerate, which will cause the iPhone’s display to turn off after a short period of inactivity.

You can choose ranges from 30 seconds to never, but the lower end of the spectrum will help preserve battery life by cutting the display when it’s not needed.

Furthermore, if you really want to save iPhone 13 battery, turning off Raise to Wake can help. You can access these Settings by going to Settings > Display & Brightness.

7. Use Dark Mode

Dark mode on iPhone 13

Even though some users might naturally prefer a darker interface, it does help to fix the battery drain issue on iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max. This is due to the fact that the display will only light up pixels on the screen that are needed, the rest of them would remain off unless required. You can enable it by going to Settings > Display & Brightness and then selecting the Dark option.

8. Enable Low Power Mode

How to Fix battery drain Issue on iPhone 13, Pro, Max, and mini

Apple’s low power mode on the iPhone works best by itself. The system disables certain aspects of the device that work in the background while giving you the option to resume work normally. It can disable background refresh, automatic downloads, and other aspects. You can enable Low Power Mode by going to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode and toggle it On.

9. Enable Reduce Motion of Interface

The Reduce Motion aspect of iOS has always proved to be quite helpful in saving the battery life of your iPhone. The option basically turns off animations and allows less strain to be applied to the battery life. You can enable it by going to Settings > Accessibility > Motion and then turn on Reduce Motion.

10. Make Sure Everything’s Up to Date

If your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max battery is draining faster, make sure you are running the latest version of iOS on your device because Apple has been making improvements and refinements to the operating system. You can check this by going to Settings > General > Software Update. From here, the iPhone will let you know if your software is up to date or if there’s a new version available.

You should also make sure all of your apps are up to date, which you can do by navigating to App Store > your profile and tap on Update All.

11. Delete Unwanted Apps

If you are not using a certain app, it will simply take up space. It might have an impact on battery life in the backend. Moreover, you will save precious storage while you are at it. You can do this from Settings > General > iPhone Storage and then deleting apps that you do not use.

12. Don’t Close Apps

Some battery life guides recommends manually closing apps through the App Switcher to prevent them from running in the background, but this doesn’t save battery life and can in fact cause the iPhone 13 battery to drain faster.

Apps in the background are paused when not in active use and aren’t using battery life. Closing out an app purges it from the iPhone’s RAM, requiring a reload when it reopens, which can have a bigger impact on battery.

13. Turn Off Screen Time

Some users have reported success saving battery on their iPhone 13 by turning off Screen Time, Apple’s personal usage monitoring feature. It’s not clear why this is causing iPhone 13 battery issues, but if you don’t use Screen Time then there’s no harm in disabling it. You can do this by going to Settings > Screen Time.

14. Perform a Force Restart

Force restarting your device can clear errors and fix iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini battery drain issues. To do this, press and quickly release the Volume Up button, press and quickly release the Volume Down button, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

15. Reset All Settings

How to Fix battery drain Issue on iPhone 13, Pro, Max, and mini

Another tip to help fix the battery drain issue on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini is to reset all settings. There is a possibility that the issue lies in the settings that you are not familiar with and hence, it would make sense to reset all of them. To do that, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset and then tap on Reset All Settings.

16. Restore and Setup as new iPhone

This is not ideal, but if iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max battery drain issue is persistent, you can hard reset your device and set it up as a new device. This way, you start afresh and get rid of possibly problematic customizations and settings on your device. Once you reset your iPhone, all of your data and settings will be deleted and your device will be as good as new. However, be sure to create a backup of your data before you proceed with this step. Head over to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings to do it.

How to Fix iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro Max Wi-Fi problems

Is your Wi-Fi not working properly on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini? There could be many reasons for this. Nonetheless, here are some general tips, tricks, and solutions you can follow to fix Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Apple recently released iPhone 13 lineup. While the new phones come with a boatload of new forward-facing features, they do come with their own share of issues. For instance, you might be having trouble connecting to your WiFi network.

In this article, we will be going through all the methods you can use to help fix Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Some of the reported iPhone 13 Wi-Fi problems include:

  • iPhone 13 not connecting to Wi-Fi
  • iPhone 13 connected to Wi-Fi but no Internet
  • iPhone 13 Dropping Wi-Fi connection
  • Slow Wi-Fi speed on iPhone 13

If you are experiencing WiFi issues on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini, this is how you can fix it and resume normal functionality.

Let’s get started.

How to Fix iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Wi-Fi Problems

Here are a few solutions you could try to fix the Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max:

1. Toggle Airplane Mode

The first step to fix WiFi problems on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini is enabling and disabling Airplane mode. Airplane mode will terminate all radio wave connections made by your phone to any Wi-Fi or cellular networks. For this, you can use the Control Centre or open the Settings app and tap on Airplane Mode switch to turn it on. Wait for a few seconds and then tap it again to disable Airplane mode.

2. Restart Your iPhone

Before trying other solutions, like restarting your Wi-Fi router, let’s start by restarting your iPhone. Simply restarting your iPhone can clear most errors in the system that prevent the normal functioning of the device. Turn the device off and leave it as is for a minute and then turn it on again. This will potentially fix WiFi issues on iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini. To do this, go to Settings > General > Shut Down.

3. Force restart

Like all tech problems, there is no harm in starting off by force rebooting your iPhone. Performing a force restart can clear errors and fix iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini Wi-Fi issues. To do this, press and quickly release the Volume Up button, press and quickly release the Volume Down button, press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

4. Reboot Router

Wifi router

If restarting your iPhone does not help fix WiFi problems, you can also try and reboot your router. There is a possibility that the issue resides in the network rather than the iPhone itself. Use the physical button on your router or use the main wall switch to turn off your Wi-Fi router. It is recommended to wait for 10 seconds after you have turned off your router before restarting it to Ensure that every capacitor is fully drained, and thus every bit of memory is cleared. This ensures that all the settings on the router that may be causing the issue are reset. This is most likely to resolve your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini Wi-Fi issues.

5. Forget WiFi and reconnect

If you’re not able to connect to a Wi-Fi Network and being prompted that the password you’ve entered is incorrect despite entering the correct password, then try to forget the WiFi network and try to connect from scratch. A lot of the time, the issue lies in the connection process and you can simply forget the WiFI and try to connect to it again to fix the issue.

To forget the Wi-Fi network, tap on the Wi-Fi network on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max from the list under Settings > Wi-Fi. Then tap Forget This Network. You will be prompted with a popup message asking you if you want to forget the Wi-Fi Network. Tap Forget to forget the network.

Now head back to Settings > Wi-Fi, select the network again, type in the password, and Join the network again to see if it helps.

6. Disable VPN

Online security has become an increasingly popular topic, as well as a relevant one. Using a VPN is a great way to secure your online presence by masking it with a decoy IP. However, this can also lock you out of Wi-Fi networks.

If you are using VPN on your iPhone, then try to disable it and try to connect. You can disable VPN by going to the Settings app and switch the VPN Status toggle from Connected to Not Connected. If you are not able to disable it from the settings app, open the VPN app to disable VPN temporarily to figure out if it resolves the WiFi problem on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

7. Make sure the date and time are correct

If you’re not able to connect to a Wi-Fi Network, ensure that the date and time on your iPhone are set correctly for your time zone. You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Date & Time. If the date and time are incorrect, update them or turn on the option to set date and time automatically.

8. Wi-Fi Assist

Wi-Fi assist featured

iOS includes a feature called Wi-Fi Assist, which provides more reliable Internet connections when your Wi-Fi network becomes spotty. However, some readers have reported that turning it off and turning it back on seemed to help resolve the Wi-Fi problems. You can turn off Wi-Fi Assist by going to Settings > Cellular (Mobile in some regions) and scroll down to the bottom where you will see Wi-Fi Assist. Tap on the toggle to turn it off.

9. Reset Network Settings

reset menu in ios 15

Another way to fix iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max WiFi issues is to reset network settings. These are the settings responsible for the default servers you connect to, like your DNS and so on.

Resetting these will not delete any of your personal data, so don’t worry about losing any of your files. Take note that this will make your iPhone forget WiFi passwords as well as Bluetooth. Simply, head over to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

10. Restore iPhone

This is not an ideal solution, but if none of the solutions mentioned above resolve WiFi issues on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max, then you would have to restore your device completely. It is possible that errors or bugs rest in the system rather than settings. Henceforth, resetting your iPhone would erase all data and settings and the operating system will be available fresh. However, take note that all of your data will be deleted, so it is better to keep a backup. Restoring your iPhone would potentially fix WiFI issues. To do this, navigate to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings to do it.

This is all there is to it folks. These tips will fix Wi-Fi issue on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

If all of these attempts haven’t solved the Wi-Fi problem on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini, it might not be software related. Instead, there could be something wrong with the Wi-Fi hardware on your phone.

The best way to determine if that’s the case, and to get it fixed, is to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and have them check out your phone.

If the above methods did not help in solving the Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max, your only bet is to wait for a new iOS update from Apple which should hopefully fix whatever problem you are facing.

Is Bluetooth not working properly on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini? There could be many reasons for this. Nonetheless, here are some general tips, tricks, and solutions you can follow to fix Bluetooth issues on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Some of the reported iPhone 13 Bluetooth problems include:

  • Bluetooth not turning on
  • Bluetooth unavailable or unable to connect to the Bluetooth accessory or car audio
  • Bluetooth devices suddenly disconnecting
  • Crackling sound during call
  • Unable to initialize calls over Bluetooth
  • Not able to connect to new Bluetooth devices
  • When connected to AirPods or car stereo, music tracks skip or stutter

If there was a wire, you’d wiggle it. If there was a plug, you’d pull it out and put it back in. But what do you do when your problem is with the wireless wizardry of Bluetooth devices?

In this guide, we will be going through all the methods you can use to help fix Bluetooth issues on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 13 mini.

Let’s get started.

How to fix Bluetooth problems on iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro

1. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on

To start off this list, we’ll be doing a bunch of simple methods to help troubleshoot and fix your problem. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on. You should see the little Bluetooth symbol at the top of your phone’s screen. If you don’t, go into the settings > Bluetooth and turn on the Bluetooth toggle.

2. Make sure the devices you want to pair are designed to connect with each other

Whether it’s a headset, speaker, mouse, keyboard, camera or something else, your device has a specific profile that spells out what it can connect with. If you’re not sure, check the user manual.

3. Make sure the two devices are in close enough proximity to one another

If your iPhone 13 cannot find Bluetooth devices, make sure any devices you’re trying to pair are within five feet of one other.

4. Turn Off and On Bluetooth

The next step for solving iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max Bluetooth issues is to toggle your iPhone’s Bluetooth connection. Turning your Bluetooth off and on is a standard solution and essentially works by disconnecting you from your Bluetooth device and reconnecting yourself to it.

Although this is a simple solution, if the problem lies in the faulty connection between you and your Bluetooth device, then this should be the only fix you need. You can do this by going to Settings > Bluetooth and then disable the switch at the top of the page.

5. Enable And Disable Airplane Mode

Another simple fix that works similarly to turning off and on your Bluetooth connection is enabling and disabling Airplane mode on your phone. Airplane mode will terminate all radio wave connections made by your phone to any Bluetooth accessory.

Enabling and disabling this feature will reset all concurrent network connections made by your phone, which will be a much more substantial reset compared to the previous method.

6. Turn on discoverable mode

Let’s say you want to pair your iPhone 13 with your car’s infotainment system so you can enjoy hands-free calling, texting and navigation. First, navigate to your iPhone’s settings and tap on Bluetooth; doing so makes the phone visible to the car. Then press the button on your car’s infotainment system, usually on the steering wheel or center stack, to get it looking for the device.

Once it finds your iPhone, the car will display a numeric code you need to confirm or input on your iPhone. After you do so, the devices should be paired. Keep in mind your phone will only stay in discoverable mode for a few minutes; if you take too long, you’ll need to start over.

7. Restart Your iPhone.

A soft reset sometimes can resolve an issue. Restarting any device will fix most software issues as this will terminate any running programs and boot it up, which should cause it to function like normal. You can restart your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro by going to Settings > General > Shut Down.

8. Disconnect From a Bluetooth Device and reconnect

If the previous tip didn’t work for you, you can try disconnecting and reconnecting to a problematic Bluetooth device. You can do this by going to Settings > Bluetooth. Select the specific Bluetooth device and then choose Disconnect.

After that, it’s best to turn off the Bluetooth device and then turn it back on to see if it will reconnect.

9. Forget And Reconnect To Your Bluetooth device

If your iPhone 13 sees a device but isn’t receiving data from it, you can try forgetting the device you paired with, and then try reconnecting. You can do this by going to Settings > Bluetooth, select the device. On the next page, choose Forget This Device. Then go through the pairing process with the Bluetooth device again.

10. Update iOS Software

If you’re still having Bluetooth issues on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max, make sure your phone is running the latest version of iOS. Keeping your iPhone software up-to-date is important for a number of reasons. It’s vital for security and adds all the latest iOS features to your iPhone.

If you are running iOS 15; you should wait for another point release of the OS from Apple to see if that fixes the Bluetooth issues or not. It is pretty common for the first build of a major OS to have some problems, and companies generally tend to release a point update soon after to fix any widely reported issues. You can check for a software update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

You’ll either be promoted to update or see that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS.

11. Reset Network Settings.

If you suffer from continued Bluetooth issues on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max or iPhone 13 mini, you can also try to reset network settings. Resetting these will not delete any of your personal data, so don’t worry about losing any of your files. But please take note: along with completely wiping all Bluetooth information on your iPhone, this will erase other network settings including known Wi-Fi networks, APN and VPN settings. You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

12. Restore iPhone

This is not an ideal solution, but if none of the steps discussed above resolve Bluetooth issues on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max, then you would have to restore your device completely. It is possible that errors or bugs rest in the system rather than settings. Henceforth, resetting your iPhone would erase all data and settings and the operating system will be available fresh. However, take note that all of your data will be deleted, so it is better to keep a backup. Restoring your iPhone would potentially fix Bluetooth problems. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.

This is all there is to it folks. These tips will fix Bluetooth problems on your iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro Max.

If these steps don’t help your iPhone 13 Bluetooth issues, it might not be software related. Instead, the Bluetooth hardware on your phone may be faulty.

The best way to determine if that’s the case, and to get it fixed, is to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store and have them check out your phone.

Possible reasons your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is overheating

If your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro is regularly feeling hot and you’re noticing sluggish performance, here are a few things that could be causing it:

  • Streaming for a lengthy period of time. This means that your iPhone has to load your content and keep the display working. This forces your iPhone to work harder which consequently generates more heat.
  • Gaming. Resource-intensive video games with high-end graphics may cause your iPhone to get hot.
  • You may notice your iPhone 13 gets warm when you are downloading a huge number of apps at the same time while you are using your device.

Use These Nifty Tips to Fix iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro overheating issues

To fix overheating issues on your iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, or iPhone 12 mini, follow the tips below:

1. Check for External Causes

The most common factor that adds up to the heat of your iPhone 13 Pro is the environment and physical condition. This one may seem obvious, but a big reason that your iPhone may be overheating is because of environmental temperatures. iPhones are slated to be used in 32º F to 95º F (0º C and 35º C). So in the warmer months, if your phone is in direct sunlight, it could be causing it to overheat. Or if it’s mounted to the heater vent in your car in the winter, that could also cause it to heat up.

Depending on the type of case you have on your iPhone, it may trap heat. This can prevent your iPhone from getting the proper ventilation that it needs to stay cool.

Follow the tips below on how to avoid and reduce external heat factors:

  • Avoid leaving your iPhone in your car on a hot summer day. Temperatures in a parked car can be intense.
  • Avoid leaving your iPhone on warm or hot items like radiators.
  • Avoid gaming while charging your iPhone (more so graphic-intensive games) or streaming.
  • Avoid leaving your iPhone in direct sunlight.
  • Make sure you use the original USB cable and adapter when charging. If it is a third party charger or cable, ensure it’s Apple certified.
  • If your iPhone 13 is overheating while you charge it, it could be that there’s an issue with the charging cable. Try swapping it out and see if that fixes the issue.
  • If your iPhone 13 is already hot, take off the phone’s case in an attempt to cool it down.

These should be able to resolve the common issues in the physical aspects of the device. But if you still experience overheating in your iPhone 13 Pro after these steps, don’t worry, there are still other factors to consider. Let’s now proceed to the next method.

2. Turn the brightness down.

Brightness can be controlled through the Control Center on the iPhone using the brightness toggle or through the Display & Brightness section of the Settings app. It’s a good idea to turn on the auto-brightness setting to make sure your screen isn’t overly bright in darker rooms by default, but some manual adjustment may be necessary in brighter rooms and in the sun. Launch Control Centre and drag the Brightness slider to the bottom.

3. Use Wi-Fi whenever possible

Using Wi-Fi demands less power when compared to being on cellular data. Keeping Wi-Fi on at all times will help in preventing iPhone 13 from overheating.

4. Monitor Your Applications.

If you’re just noticing your iPhone 13 overheating, think back to any new applications you may have recently installed. Apps that weren’t properly installed can cause your phone to overheat, as well as apps that are continuously crashing. Even apps that are hanging or stalling in the background can cause your iPhone to overheat, and you might not realize it because it’s not something you’re actively using.

You can check to see which apps are using the most of your battery, which should help you determine if there’s an app (or apps) causing your phone to overheat. Go to Settings > Battery and check the detailed battery usage of every app.

Once you’ve figured out which apps are using a lot of battery power, the first troubleshooting step is to try force quitting them. Your phone works overtime when you have multiple apps open at the same time (this includes open web browser tabs), so get in the habit of closing unused apps periodically. Also, close apps (especially graphics-heavy apps like games) when you charge your phone. To do this, swipe up from the bottom and then hold your finger in the middle of the screen. When you see all the open apps like cards, find the app(s) you want to close and swipe up.

Next, update your apps because there could be a glitchy bug in an old update that, once fixed, will make your iPhone run smoothly. You can update your apps by going to App Store and then navigate to Today > Your Profile > Update All.

has your problem started recently? You may want to delete any apps you downloaded shortly before your iPhone 13 started to hit up. In addition, delete apps you don’t use.

5. Update Your iOS To The Latest Version.

While individual apps can be the cause of your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro overheating, so can the actual iOS. From time to time, there’ll be a bug in the iOS software that is causing your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro to overheat. To rule that out, you should always make sure your iPhone is running the most recent iOS software available. You can update iOS by going to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, tap download and install.

6. Restart iPhone

There could be something running in the background that is causing your iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro to overheat. If something is continuously running in the background, the quickest and easiest fix is to turn your iPhone off for 30 seconds and then turn it back on. You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Shut Down.

Any device that has been up for days tends to overheat, including your iPhone 13. Force restarting your device can clear errors and fix overheating issues on your iPhone 13. 11. Restore iPhone as New

If nothing else works and the iPhone 13 overheating issue is persistent, you can hard reset your device to clear any potential errors that might be persistent due to a corrupt file. Head over to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.
