Got a tip for us?

A couple of users have stated that they are unable to view recent phone calls (calls they have received or made) and/or missed calls because their iPhones are not showing their recent call history. Don’t throw your phone to the wall. In this article, I’ll explain why your iPhone won’t show recent calls and how to fix it.

Your iPhone records all calls. Your call history, also referred to as recent calls, has two viewing options: All (outgoing and incoming calls) and Missed. The call history section allows you to access a list of people (your contacts and other numbers) who have called you.

If you cannot see your call history, there are a number of troubleshooting tips that you can try to fix the issue. This problem can be very annoying because, for instance, if you cannot see your missed calls, you do not know who called and you will not be able to return the call.

Keep in mind, iOS allows you to see up to 100 most recent calls and groups. It’s also worth noting that some recent calls and missed calls can be grouped if they are from the same person or number.

iPhone not showing recent missed calls: fix

Try the following steps in order. After each step, check to see if your problem is fixed:

Note: information in this article apply to iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S models.

  • Restart your iPhone: Try this first. Simply restart your device to fix this problem. This is a very simple process.  You can shut down your device by Heading to Settings > General > Shut Down. You can also shut down your iPhone by  (a) (if it is an iPhone X, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 or iPhone 14) pressing and holding the side and one of the volume buttons (up or down); (b) (if it’s iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, iPhone SE or earlier) pressing and holding the side button.
  • Force close the Phone app and restart: You can close the Phone app and restart again. Do not worry, your data will not be erased. Here is how:
    • iPhone X, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 or iPhone 14: Unlock your device and swipe up. This will reveal the most recently used apps. Find the Phone app, and touch and hold the up and press the red minus (-) icon to close. Then tap the Phone icon to reopen the app.
    • iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, iPhone SE and older models: Double press the home button. Then find the Phone app and swipe up on the Phone app card to close it.
  • Update your iPhone: A new update may be available. Check for updates and make sure that your iPhone is running the latest version of the iOS software. A new update may resolve this issue. You can easily update your iPhone wirelessly. Start the settings app and go to General > Software Update.
  • Disable and enable Cellular:   Start the Settings app and go to Cellular and toggle off Cellular Data wait about 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
  • Enable and disable Airplane Mode: Start the Settings app and turn on Airplane mode and wait about 30 seconds and turn it off again.
  • Reset network settings: Start the settings app and go to General > Settings > Transfer or reset iPhone > Reset and then tap Reset Network Settings (you may be asked to type in your passcode). We know it’s frustrating when your iPhone won’t show missed calls. Now you know exactly how to fix the problem if you ever find iPhone not showing recent calls. Thank you for reading. And feel free to ask any question you have on the comments section.

Is your iPhone 12 not ringing when someone calls you? consequently, you are missing incoming calls? In this article I’ll explain exactly how you can troubleshoot when your iPhone 12 does not ring when receiving calls.

If your iPhone 12 is not ringing, you are likely to get frustrated because it may cause you to miss important incoming calls. If you cannot answer a call because of this, your iPhone become worthless. Don’t throw your iPhone through the window. In this article, I’ll explain why your iPhone 12 won’t ring and I’ll show you exactly how to fix it for good!

iPhone 12 not ringing: fix

First, let’s take a look at basic iPhone ring settings:

This may be due to incorrect or unintended settings. Here is what and how you can check:

Your iPhone has a Ring/Silent switch on its left side. This is the first thing you should check if you find your iPhone 12 not ringing only vibrating. For your iPhone 12 to ring, the Ring / Silent switch on the side of your iPhone has to be set to ring. If the switch is pulled toward the screen, your iPhone’s ringer is turned on. If the switch is pushed toward the back of the iPhone, your iPhone is on silent and you’ll know this if you see a small orange stripe next to the switch. You’ll also see the speaker icon on the iPhone display when you flip the switch.
Once you’re sure the Ring / Silent switch is set to ring, ensure your iPhone ringer is turned up so you can hear your iPhone ring when someone calls you.

To turn up the ringer volume, press the volume up button on the side of your iPhone. Alternatively, You can turn up the ringer volume by going to Settings > Sound & Haptics and increase the volume of the ringer. Also, consider setting the Change With Buttons option to off.

In most cases, the reason an iPhone 12 isn’t ringing for incoming calls is that the user has accidentally turned on the Do Not Disturb feature in Settings. Do Not Disturb silences calls, alerts, and notifications on your iPhone. You can easily check if Do Not Disturb is enabled by looking at the upper right hand corner of your iPhone, just to the left of the battery icon. If Do Not Disturb is turned on, you’ll see a small moon icon there.

To turn Do Not Disturb off, swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone display to launch Control Center. Tap the moon icon to turn Do Not Disturb on or off. That’s all!

Launch Control Center by swiping down from the upper right-hand corner of the display. Alternatively, you can disable Do Not Disturb by heading to Settings -> Do Not Disturb and turning off the switch next to Do Not Disturb. You’ll know Do Not Disturb is off when the switch turn white.

Is your iPhone 12 not ringing with all calls or some calls? One reason why you have an iPhone 12 ringing problem might be because you may have blocked their phone numbers. If a number is blocked, you will not receive a call from that particular number. You can easily check that. Here is how:

  • Start the Settings app and go to Phone
  • Now, scroll down and tap Blocked Contacts
  • You can see all blocked numbers from this screen. Review them.

Do you use Call Forwarding? Turn this off and try again. Simply follow these steps:

  • Start the Settings app and go to Phone
  • Now, tap Call Forwarding
  • Finally, set this to off

So you checked your settings and it is not a settings issue? Then try the following troubleshooting tips:

  1. Turn on Airplane Mode, wait about 30 seconds and then turn it off.
  2. Update your iOS, if there is an update available. To check this, head over to Settings > General > Software Update.
  3. Restart your iPhone. To do this, Press the on/off button until the power off slider appears. And drag the slider to power off your device. You can also turn off your iPhone by heading to Settings > General > Shut Down. Then turn on your device by pressing and holding the on/off button until you see the Apple logo.
  4. Update your carrier settings. Sometimes carriers (Verizon, ATT&T, T-Mobile etc) release updates regarding cellular connections. Check to see if there is an update. Please follow these steps:
    • Start the settings app and go to Settings > General > About
    • If there is an update, you’ll see a popup on the screen. Follow the prompts.
  5. One reason why your iPhone 12 is not ringing, may be because your block unknown callers feature is turned on. To turn this off, Start the Settings app and go to Phone and then switch off Silence Unknown Callers. Once you’ve done that, your iPhone should be able to ring again when someone who isn’t in your contacts tries to call you.
  6. Reset Network Settings. This action will reset network settings and this means that, for example, your Wi-Fi passwords etc will be removed. Start the setting app and go to General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.
  7. If you have tried all the above tips and your iPhone 12 isn’t ringing, there’s a good chance you may have a hardware problem.
    contact Apple.
For the meantime, you may need to turn on LED Flash for Alerts so that you do not miss any more calls. You can enable this feature by heading to Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual and then enable Led Flash for Alerts.

One of two things is happening when you tap to open an iPhone app: Nothing happens at all or the app begins to load the opening screen, but immediately closes. Either way, you’re left staring at an iPhone full of apps that won’t open, and it’s starting to get frustrating. In this article, I’ll explain exactly why your iPhone apps won’t open and how to fix the problem for life.

Common ‘iOS app is not working‘ issues:

  • an app won’t open
  • An app won’t respond
  • an app is crashing

Generally, iOS works smoothly, however sometimes, you may experience problems such as app crashing and much more. You may think that some or all of the apps installed on your iOS device feel sluggish or slow, if you experience this, these troubleshooting methods may help that as well.

Why is my iPhone Apps Not Responding?

Your iPhone apps won’t respond because your iPhone has a software glitch. When an app crashes, it usually doesn’t take the whole iPhone with it. Instead, you end up back on the Home screen, and the app terminates in the background. Most of the time, that’s enough to fix a software bug – but not always.

Sometimes, iPhone apps won’t open because of a problem with the iPhone operating system (iOS), not a problem with the app itself. Here are some reasons why Your iPhone apps won’t open::

  • Insufficient memory
  • bugs in your app
  • App incompatibility
  • bandwidth limitation

The unresponsive app can be (a) an Apple built-in app (for instance, Phone, messages, News, Safari, Videos, Photos and much more); or (b) an app you downloaded from the App Store, developed by third party developers.

How To Fix iPhone Apps That Won’t Open

I’ll walk you step-by-step through the process of troubleshooting an iPhone app that won’t open. Follow the steps below in order and check if your problem is fixed after each step. Let’s jump into it!

Solution #1. Turn Your iPhone Off And Back On

It’s simple, but restarting (turn off and turn on) may fix hidden software issues that may be preventing your apps from opening properly. When you switch off your iPhone, the operating system terminates all the little background programs that help your iPhone to run. When you turn it back on, they all start fresh, and sometimes that’s enough to resolve a software problem that had been preventing your apps from opening.

  • To turn your iPhone off, Press and hold the on/off (sleep/wake) button until you see the power slider. Then drag the slider. Wait until your iPhone is completely off. This may take a few seconds. Then press and hold down the power button until you see the Apple logo.

Solution #2.Restart the app

If the app crashes, is stuck or is unresponsive, force quitting is likely the best option. This quits the app and when you open it again it loads up fresh. Any temporary issues you were experiencing with that app should be fixed.
The process of force quitting an app is different depending on an iPhone model.

  • iPhone x, xr, XS, XS Max, and iPhone 11 models, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the app switcher and swipe up the app. Then launch the app again.
  • iPhone 8 and earlier, double press the home button and swipe up the app. Then launch the app again.

Solution #3. Force restart Your iPhone

Sometimes forcing your device to restart is all you need to do to fix an iPhone app that won’t respond.
The method to force restart an iPhone depends on which model you have, so we’ve broken down the process for each device:
iPhone 6s, iPhone SE, & older

  • Press and hold the Home button and the power button (Sleep/Wake button) together until the screen turns black and the Apple logo appears again.

iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus

  • Simultaniously press and hold down the volume down button and the power button. Don’t release the buttons until the Apple logo reappears on the display.

iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 11

  • Quickly press and let go of the Volume Up button. Then, quickly press and let go of the Volume Down button. Lastly, hold down the side button. Don’t release the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Solution #4.iOS updates

There may be system updates. These updates may fix this. To check and install iOS updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Solution #5. App updates

One of the main reasons app developers release updates is to resolve software glitches that can cause problems like this one. Instead of updating one app at a time trying to pinpoint the problematic app, I suggest you update all your apps at once.

To update your apps, start the App Store app on your iPhone, tap my account in the top right-hand corner, and tap Update All. If you don’t see Update All, your apps are already up-to-date.

Solution #6. Uninstall and reinstall the app

Deleting and reinstalling the app in question from your iPhone is the first thing most experts will advice you to do. It’s the “unplug it and plug it back in” school of thought, and most of the time it resolves problems.

I think it’s a good place to start too, but I don’t want to get your hopes up. You need to as yourself, “Are all of my apps not opening, or it’s just a single app?”

  • If only one of your apps won’t open, there’s a high possibility that deleting the app from your iPhone and installing a fresh copy of the app from the App Store will fix the problem.
  • If multiple apps won’t open, deleting and reinstalling all of your appsis not likely to fix your problem. Instead, we’ll have to Fix the underlying cause, which in this case, is the iPhone’s operating system (iOS).

Solution #7. Is The App very old? check when an app was last updated

There are tons of apps in the App Store, and not all of them are kept up-to-date. The software code that runs iPhone apps changes each time the Cupertino based company releases a new version of iOS. Usually the changes aren’t too drastic, but if an app hasn’t been updated for ages, there’s a high possibility it’s not compatible with your version of iOS.

To check when an app was last updated, on your iPhone, start the app store app, search for the app, tap to open the app, scroll down to the section called Information, and look at the date next to Updated.

Another way to rule out this is to ask a friend with similar iPhone model and iOS version to download and open the app. If the app works on their iPhone, we know there’s a software problem with yours. If the app doesn’t open on their iPhone, there’s a problem with the app itself. Unfortunately, if an app is too old to run on a newer version of iOS, there’s nothing you can do to fix the problem. Your only option is to
contact the app developer
and ask if they’re planning to release an update. If I were in their position, I’d be thankful someone let me know about the issue.

Solution #8. Reset All Settings

To Reset All Settings on your iPhone: Head over to Settings -> General -> Reset. Reset All Settings doesn’t erase any of your personal data from your iPhone, but like the name suggests, it does reset all of your settings back to factory defaults. If you’ve taken the time to
optimize your iPhone to improve iPhone’s battery life,
for example, you’ll have to do it right from the start.

When an iPhone app won’t open, it’s a problem that can take 30 seconds, 30 minutes, or longer to solve. For your sake, I hope the fix was quick and easy. I’d like to hear from you about your experience with apps that won’t respond, and about how far you had to go to fix your iPhone. How to fix an incorrect password for Wi-Fi network error on iPhone and iPad
A couple of iPhone and iPad users are experiencing a strange issue where they are attempting to join a familiar wi-fi network, but they see an “Incorrect password” error message, and the iPhone or iPad refuses to join the wireless network. More specifically, users see the “Incorrect password” wi-fi error despite they being certain the wi-fi password is correct. Given how dependent these devices are to an internet connection, it can be frustrating when an iOS device doesn’t join a wi-fi network or returns a repeated “incorrect password” message.

Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting on your iPhone? Fix

In this troubleshooting guide, I’ll explain how to fix the annoying “Incorrect password for network” error messages on an iPhone or iPad when trying to join a wi-fi network.

Here are 4 main Reasons Why You Will See the “Incorrect Password” Error on your iPhone

Before you jump into solutions, make sure you cover the following bases:

  • Ensure that you know the correct password of the wi-fi network
  • Ensure that you are connecting to the correct wi-fi network, sometimes they have similar names as nearby wi-fi access points
  • Ensure that you are typing in the wi-fi password correctly, they are case sensitive and the wi-fi password must be an exact match
  • Ensure the CAPS LOCK or an alternative language keyboard is not enabled when typing in the Wi-Fi password

You may think the above recommendations are ridiculous, but most people incorrectly enter a wi-fi password, or have the CAPS LOCK on when typing in one, or maybe they hear a word or phrase incorrectly and are typing the wi-fi password wrong. For instance, if a wi-fi password is “Geeksmodo123” then it must be typed as it appears with the proper capitalization, or else you will encounter the ‘incorrect password’ error. It’s also not uncommon for people to be trying to join the wrong wi-fi network, so make sure you are not entering a correct wi-fi password but on the wrong access point.

Supposing you have the correct wi-fi password and the correct network, and you are still experiencing the incorrect password error, follow the steps below to fix the issue in iOS.

Fix “Incorrect Password” Wi-Fi Errors on iPhone and iPad

We’ll explain a number of troubleshooting tips and tricks to resolve the “Incorrect Password” error message when attempting to join a wireless network in iOS.

Are you having this problem too? Randomly, your iPhone (or iPad) says the password is incorrect? If you are having this issue, In this article, I’ll explain why your iPhone says the password is incorrect and help you fix the problem, whether it’s with your iPhone or your wireless router.

Follow the steps below in order. After each step, please check if you fixed the problem:

Solution #1: Reboot the iPhone or iPad

In most cases, restarting the iPhone or iPad can fix strange network connection problems, including an inability to connect to a wi-fi network. It’s pretty easy to restart an iPhone or iPad. You just need to turn your iPhone or iPad off, then back on again. Here’s how:

  1. Hold down the Power button on the device until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ screen appears
  2. Drag the slider to power off the iPhone or iPad
  3. When your device is completely turned off, turn it back on by holding down the Power button until the apple logo appears

When the iPhone or iPad has started up again, try connecting the wi-fi network again.

Solution #2: Forget the Wi-Fi Network, then Re-Join

Sometimes, forgetting a wi-fi network and then rejoining that wi-fi network can fix incorrect password problems on your iPhone and iPad. Here’s how:

  1. On your iPhone, start the “Settings” app and go to ‘Wi-Fi’
  2. Now, tap the (i) info button next to the network name of the wi-fi router you wish to join
  3. Next, tap on “Forget This Network”
  4. Next on, confirm that you want to forget the network by tapping “Forget”
  5. Finally, wait for a few seconds and re-join the same wi-fi network again and type in the correct password

Solution #3: Reset iOS Network Settings on the iPhone or iPad

Resetting the iOS Network Settings clears all wi-fi and network preferences and settings from the device. Please note, all your wi-fi passwords, custom settings and configurations, and other remembered network data will be lost. Here’s how:

  1. Start the “Settings” app on your iPhone or iPad and go to” General” > “Reset
  2. Now, tap on “Reset Network Settings”
  3. Next, confirm that you want to Reset Network Settings
  4. Finally, re-join the wi-fi network using the correct password

In most cases, resetting network settings can resolve many annoying connectivity issues in iOS, which includes the “incorrect password for network” error, an unclear “unable to join network” error, and much more.

Remember to reconfigure various iOS networking components again after resetting your network settings. For instance if you use custom DNS on the iPhone or iPad, manual DHCP configuration, use a VPN, a proxy, or if you had many networks remembered along with their passwords, you’ll need to enter that data manually again after resetting your network settings

Solution #4: Restart the Wi-Fi Router or Modem

It’s pretty easy to restart a router or modem. Simply unplug a wi-fi router or modem, wait about 30 seconds, then plug the router back in again. In some cases, it’s not possible to restart a router or modem especially in workforce or public environments. So while you can easily do this in a home or small office, it might not apply at an airport, office, or public space.

Solution #5: Have Someone Else Share the Wi-Fi Password With You

With the newer versions of iOS, anyone can share a wi-fi password with another iPhone or iPad that is nearby.

If you or your friend is in a situation where an iPhone or iPad user is repeatedly getting the “Incorrect password” error message when trying to join a network, and you and the other device is running the latest iOS (iOS 11 or higher) then you can use the Share Wi-Fi Password feature in iOS to share the password with your friend and allow them to join the network without having to enter the password manually themselves. This can come in handy if someone is prone to typos or CAPS LOCK, using an alternative keyboard, and other similar scenarios where some user error can be involved in the failure.

Bonus “Incorrect Password for Network” Wi-Fi Troubleshooting Options

  • Join another wi-fi network to be sure that wi-fi is actually working on the iPhone or iPad
  • If the iPhone or iPad will not join any wi-fi network, it could be having a hardware problem – this is quite uncommon, but can be possible (especially if the device sustained substantial water contact or some other damage). In such a case,
    contact Apple Support
    to diagnose for hardware problems
  • Rarely, backing up, resetting, and then restoring an iOS device from backup may fix your issue – you should do this as a last resort

Keep in mind, if the wi-fi network is hidden you will need to manually type in the wi-fi SSID to join a hidden wi-fi network in iOS

Did the above troubleshooting tips fix your “incorrect password” for wi-fi network errors on an iPhone or iPad? Are you able to join the wi-fi network without problems? Are you aware of any other solution for this particular problem? We’d love to hear your experiences in the comments section below!

  • You won’t receive any notifications alerts on your Apple Watch if you’re actively using your iPhone.

You can find the above notes at the top of the Notifications menu in the Watch app on your iPhone and I’m pretty sure one of them may be the reason why you’re not getting notifications on your Apple Watch.
Please try the troubleshooting tips below. And after each step check to see if notifications start working.

If you are not getting notifications on your Apple Watch, the first thing you should do is to make sure that your Apple Watch is connected. Also on your iPhone, head over to Settings > Do Not Disturb > Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off.

It’s also worth noting that your Apple Watch notifications settings mirror your iPhone notifications settings. To change this setting:

  • On your iPhone: head over to the Apple Watch app > My Watch > Notifications > Phone and ensure that Mirror My Phone is selected.

Also, ensure that your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network to receive notifications. If you are experiencing network connection issues, you might need to try the fixes below:

  • Turn on Airplane Mode on your iPhone, wait about 20 seconds, and then turn it back off.
  • Reset your network settings: head over to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. (please note: this will remove your network settings).

Some users have reported that Apple Watch is displaying phone numbers for incoming calls, instead of the contact names, even when the callers are in your address book. Please follow these steps to fix this issue:

  • On your Apple watch, launch the Apple Watch app, and then navigate to My Watch > General > Reset > and hit Reset Sync Data. Please note, this may take a couple of minutes.

Solution #6. Turn off Wrist Detection
As I pointed out at the beginning of this guide, your Apple Watch will only receive notifications when you’re wearing it. However, there might be a problem with the sensor that is located at the back of your Apple Watch that detects if you are wearing it or not. If the sensor is broken, your Apple Watch may not be able to determine that you’re wearing it, therefore, you won’t receive notifications.

You can resolve wrist sensor problems by turning off Wrist Detection completely. On your iPhone, head over to the Watch app and tap Passcode. Then, turn off the switch next to wrist detection and confirm your decision by tapping Turn Off when you see the confirmation pop up.

In this article, I’ll explain exactly how you can fix when the notification badge on the phone app won’t go away. When you miss a call and when you receive a voicemail, a notification badge will appear on the Phone app on your iPhone. This badge is the red circles that appear on an app’s icon (in the upper right-hand corner of the app icon). The badge displays as a number. This number lets you know how many new missed calls you have received.

If the Notifications setting is enabled (Settings > Notifications > Phone) for Phone, these badges will automatically appear when a notification (missed calls, etc) is received. This will show you the number of missed calls or voicemails. Ideally, you can clear a notification badge from an app icon by launching the app or accessing your voicemail messages. But what if these badges do not disappear? Well, if iPhone notification badge won’t go away, then this troubleshooting guide is for you.
