Got a tip for us?

Though not a common issue for iPhone users, it can be very frustrating to find iPhone deleting messages from the inbox by itself. At times, iPhone text messages disappear from inbox after iOS software updates or after a restart, but there are also situations where iPhone text messages just disappear from iPhone suddenly. More specifically, here are some issues that users are having:

  • The Messages app is only showing a blank, white screen, meaning all messages (text – SMS- and iMessages) seem to have disappeared and gone; however still red number badge indicates that there are some new messages.
  • Unable to send and receive new messages.
  • The send (green or blue) arrow button is not working.
  • Text message notifications and previews on the lock screen seem to be working.

The good news is that, if you have
made a backup for your iPhone
before, you can easily recover disappeared iPhone messages by

For many decades, Mac machines stayed ahead of their Windows counterparts in terms of safety. They demonstrated a higher level of resilience against malware. Therefore, they built a permanent safety reputation in the minds of many users. This image can be further solidified by the fact that we have never had a Mac epidemic. That’s why it’s hard to convince many people that Mac computers are also vulnerable to malware. If you are one of them, you should change your mind. The reason is that the 2020 State of Malware Report shows that modern hackers are directing more attacks against Macs. The report shows that hackers increased their attacks on Mac PCs last year alone by a staggering 400% increase, emphasizing how important it is to take precautions and beef up your PC safety. Read on to discover how you can detect and remove viruses targeting your Mac.

Mac security

Detecting Malware: Top Signs to Look For

Detecting viruses on your Mac is easy if you know how to do it. Below are the leading signs you need to look for to know whether your machine is infected or not.

  • Your PC will suddenly start performing slower than ever.
  • You will notice strange ads popping up on your machine’s screen.
  • You will also notice some strange app icons on your Mac’s desktop, yet you never installed them.
  • A virus infection can replace your custom browser with a new one.
  • You will notice your machine redirecting you to strange web pages when loading.
  • You will also see severe threats and warnings popping up and forcing you to download specific programs.
  • Your machine or its programs start shutting down or restarting automatically.

Removing Malware

So, what do you do if malware has already invaded your Mac? Here are two main ways of removing malware from your PC.

Manual Removal

If you have identified the malicious app disturbing your Mac, you can start by closing and rooting it out of its system’s processes. You will need to do so by:

  1. Opening the Activity Monitor by typing its name in the Launchpad;
  2. Locating the malicious program the Processes;
  3. Using the [x] button to stop the process.
  4. Afterward, you will return to the Applications and send the program to the Trash bin and empty it immediately.

Although this method is easy and straightforward, you will need more time to do it successfully. Also, by the time you were sending it to trash, it may have scattered into different folders. So, it’s safer to use an effective antivirus app.

Cleaning Your Login Data

At times, many malware programs hide in your Mac’s bootup process. Fortunately, you can remove them without a sophisticated antivirus app. Here is how to do it.

  1. Opening the Apple menu, then the System Preferences.
  2. Choosing the Users & Groups section.
  3. Next, ensure you have highlighted your username.
  4. Then, open the Login Items tab.
  5. Use the “—” sign to disable all the malware.
  6. Lastly, reboot the machine to apply the changes.

Additional Steps:
You also need to take the following steps to safeguard your Mac.
If you fear that the malware you dealt with could return, you can create a new user profile on your machine. The reason is that most malware targets users and not devices.
It would be best if you ran a malware detector on your PC to ensure that it is always safe.
You can also restore your machine’s older version to eliminate the virus. This solution is easy, although you may lose any change you made after you made the last backup on the Mac.
If things remain complex, don’t fear to call for technical support to deal with the malware.
Although Macs lead their Windows counterparts in safety matters, recent hacking onslaughts have exposed them to attacks. Therefore, be aware that you are not 100% safe unless you stay ahead of hackers. To help you do this, we shared insights on how to boost your security by detecting and removing malware. We hope you will use them well to remain on top of the security game.

Is your iPhone stuck on the Apple logo? In this article, I’ll explain exactly how you can fix when your iPhone becomes stuck on the Apple logo with the spinning wheel, the screen is black and buttons are unresponsive.

Your iPhone may get stuck on Apple logo when you turn it on or during / after an iOS update. This problem is known to happen even though not very common.

If your iPhone is stuck on the Apple logo during startup and will not load past the home screen, you may think that your device is completely damaged. However, that may not be the case. Here are some fixes that can get your iPhone out of the startup loop and start working correctly again.

Please note, the troubleshooting tips given in this guide applies to all
iPhone models.

What Causes an iPhone Stuck on the Apple Logo

The iPhone may get stuck on the Apple logo screen when there’s a glitch with the operating system or the phone’s hardware. It’s challenging for the ordinary user to figure out why an iPhone is stuck on Apple logo, but there are a few common causes:

  • Problems when upgrading your iPhone to a new version of iOS.
  • Problems when jailbreaking your device
  • Running an outdated beta version of iOS.
  • when transferring data from an older iPhone to a new one.
  • Hardware damage to the internals of your device.

Ways to fix an iPhone stuck on the Apple logo.

If your iPhone has been stuck on the Apple logo screen for a long time, there are a few troubleshooting tips you can try to fix the issue.

Please note: If these fixes don’t work, you may need to contact Apple support, or visit an Apple Store for further support. More on that at the end of the article.

Here’s how to Fix an iPhone Stuck on the Apple Logo.

1. Restart the iPhone:

Many problems, including an iPhone stuck on the Apple logo, can be fixed with a simple restart. Honestly, a simple restart is unlikely to fix the problem in this case, but it’s the easiest fix and that makes it worth trying. It only take a few taps.

Pro tip: If a standard restart doesn’t fix the problem, you should also try a hard reset. A hard reset clears out more of the iPhone’s memory (without erasing your data) and can sometimes resolve problems you may not figure out. Different iPhone models require different procedures for this. Please follow these steps:

  • To force restart iPhone 8 or newer (iPhone X, iPhone 11 and later): Quickly press and release the volume up button, quickly press and release the volume down button, finally, press and hold the power button until your iPhone restarts.
  • To force restart iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold down the side and volume down buttons together until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
  • To force restart older iPhone models (iPhone 5, iPhone 6 etc): Press and hold the home and side buttons together until you see the Apple logo.

2. Put the iPhone into Recovery Mode:

If your iPhone is still stuck on Apple logo after performing a force restart, then you may want to put your iPhone into Recovery Mode. Recovery Mode is a specific troubleshooting mode that can resolve this problem. When your iPhone is stuck at the Apple logo, it means that the operating system is having issues booting up. Recovery Mode boots up the phone, but prevents the OS from running so you can fix it. Recovery Mode lets you install a fresh version of iOS or a backup of your data.

Apple makes it easy to put an iPhone into recovery mode and this fixes the problems in most cases. You just need a computer with iTunes installed on it. Please follow these steps:

  1. Build a connection between your iPhone and computer using a USB cable.
  2. Launch iTunes on your computer.
  3. Depending on your iPhone model, follow these steps::
  • iPhone 8 or newer: Quickly press and release the volume up button and quickly press and release the volume down button and then press and hold the side button until your device enters recovery mode.
  • iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus: Press and hold the side and volume down buttons together at the same time until your device enters recovery mode.
  • iPhone 6s and older iPhone models: Press and hold the home and side buttons together at the same time until your device enters recovery mode.
  • Your iPhone is in now recovery mode.
  • You will be presented with two options: Restore or Update.
  • Choose Update. A new copy of iOS will be installed on your device without erasing your data.
  • If Update doesn’t fix your problem, try the Restore option, this option will erase all of your data and reinstall iOS. Just follow the onscreen prompts.

    3. Use DFU Mode:

DFU (Device Firmware Update) Mode stops your iPhone partway through the startup process and allows you to restore your device, load a backup, or start fresh. It works like Recovery Mode, however,it’s more focused on fixing the kind of low-level glitches that cause the iPhone to be stuck on the Apple logo. Using DFU Mode takes some practice because it requires a precise set of actions, however, it resolves problems in most cases.

To put iPhone 8 or newer into DFU mode:

    1. Ensure that your computer is running the latest version of iTunes,
    2. Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable and launch iTunes.
    3. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button. Then, quickly press and release the Volume Down button. Press and hold the Side button until the screen turns black
    4. Immediately the screen goes black, press and hold the Volume Down button together with the Side button for 5 seconds.
    5. Release the Side button while still pressing the Volume Down button. Do this until the computer detects that your iPhone is in Recovery mode.
    6. Immediately release the Volume Down button.
    7. Click Restore and your firmware will be reloaded.

To put iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6s, and older models into DFU mode:

    1. ensure that your computer is running the latest iTunes version
    2. Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable and launch iTunes.
    3. For iPhone 6, 6s, and earlier, press and hold the Side button and the Home button together for 8 seconds. For 7 and 7 Plus, press and hold the Side and the Volume Down button for 8 seconds.
    4. Immediately release the Side button on the 6s and older devices but keep pressing the Home button. For the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, let go of the Side button but keep pressing the Volume Down button.
    5. When the iPhone is detected in iTunes with the message “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode”, release the buttons and you’ve successfully entered DFU mode.
    6. Press Restore to complete the process.

Bonus tip: If your iPhone is stuck at the Apple logo when connected to a computer using a USB cable, the cable could be faulty. Try using a different USB cable and check if it works.

    4. Get Help From Apple:

If you tried all the above steps and your iPhone is still stuck at the Apple logo, you need tocontact Apple.
    make a genius bar reservation
    to get in-person support or
contact Apple Support through online live chat.

Why can’t my Mac connect to the App Store?

The Mac App Store is a fantastic place where you can download all types of applications and programs designed specifically for your Mac. However, the Mac App Store is not, like all other App Stores, without its fair share of hooks. One of the most common issues with the Mac App Store is where it returns an error message saying “Cannot connect to the App Store” every time an affected user tries to launch it.

This is a problem in which the affected Mac user’s simply can’t connect to the Mac App Store. The cause for this issue ranges from a unreliable internet connection to a problem with certificates in the KeyChain app. In most situations, simple solutions such as closing and then re-launching the Mac App Store or logging out of the Mac App Store by clicking on Store > Logout and then logging back in to it fixes the problem. However, if none of these fixes manage to resolve this problem, fear not as in this troubleshooting guide, I’ll explain the most effective solutions that you can use to try and fix the “Cannot connect to the App Store” error message and re-establish a connection back to the Mac App Store:

Please note: Before you jump into it, make sure that the date and time is set correctly on your device. If the time and date is incorrect, the appstore will not connect.

Cannot Send or Receive Messages on Your Mac?

    1. First, let’s ensure that your network is working properly. Make sure that your Mac is connected to the Internet. Check to see if websites load in Safari or other web browsers. If you are experiencing “Cannot connect to the App Store” error, you would, at your earliest, suspect your internet connection as the culprit. As such, the first fix you can try is to check to see if your internet connection is working. Please follow these steps:
    • Click on the Apple logo in the toolbar at the top. Click on System Preferences in the contextual menu. Click on Network. Check to see if there is a green icon next to the network you are connected to. If the green icon is present, your internet connection is not to blame. However, if there is a red icon next to the network you are connected to, your internet connection is down and that is most probably why your Mac can’t connect to the Mac App Store. If that’s the case, here are troubleshooting tips you can try:
      • Restart your Mac: Go to Apple menu > Restart.
      • Restart your router/modem (Disconnect your Mac from the power source, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in).
      • Turn off and on Wi-Fi. (Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar).
      • Contact your Internet service provider to find out if there are any outages.
    • Make sure that Apple Mac App Store servers are up and running. Head over to
      Apple’s System Status website
      and check..
    • Sign out and back to iTunes. Open iTunes. From the top menu bar, click Account and then Sign out. After signing out, sign back in.
    • Launch the App Store on your Mac and then click Store (top menu bar) and click sign Out and then sign back in.
    • If you are using a VPN or proxy to connect to the Internet, turn them off and check if that fixes your issue.
    • Update your Mac. Make sure that your Mac is running the latest version of OS. If you are running macOS Mojave or later, head over to System Preferences > Software Update and then click Check for Updates. If an update is available, update the software on your Mac by following the on-screen prompts. If you are running an earlier version of the macOS software (for instance, macOS High Sierra, etc,) please launch the App Store and click Updates.
    • On your Mac, make sure that the date and time are set correctly. Head over to System Preferences > Date & Time to check this. Also, consider checking the box for “Set date and time automatically”.
    • Restart your Mac in Safe Mode. You can restart your Mac by pressing and holding the Shift key as your Mac starts up (turn off your Mac then turn on and immediately press and hold the Shift key). Try the App Store in Safe Mode and then restart your Mac normally (this time, do not press the Shift key).
    • The KeyChain application stores passwords and certificates that your Mac uses to establish secure connections from apps, and that includes the Mac App Store. An issue with some certificates that the KeyChain app contains can also cause “Cannot connect to the App Store” error. If that is what’s causing this problem in your case, here’s what you can do in order to edit certain certificates in the KeyChain application and fix this issue. On your Mac, try the steps below:
      • Launch the Keychain Access app (Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access).
      • Now, click “System Roots”.
      • Next, double Click “DigiCert High Assurance EV root CA”.
      • Next on, click “Trust” to expand it.
      • Now, you need to change “When using this certificate” from “Use System Defaults” to “Never Trust”.
      • Next, restart your Mac.
      • Finally, when your Mac is on, follow the same steps to change “When using this certificate” back to “Use System Defaults”.
    • Launch Finder.
    • From the top menu, click Go > Go to Folder and type in the following command:
    • /var/db/crls/
    • Hit Go.
    • Now, delete these files: “crlcache.db” and “ocspcache.db”. If asked, type in your admin password.
    • Finally, restart your Mac.

If the above solutions did not fix your problem, you could
    contact Apple.
